“A Good Starter Hike”

这是一个很不错的旅程开始徒步旅行的时间更长的牛或新游客公园。这是游客中心很近所以不需要班车。段的景色会让你得到一些高度和值班的保安和zion峡谷的入口。有几个悬崖和一些岩石咒语; 穿上合适的鞋子和注意一个小孩走他们的路。

Nice trail with no shuttle wait

This was a moderate trail, 3 miles round trip. A major plus is while hundreds of people wait for a shuttle to get to Emerald Pools or elsewhere, this starts just after the visitor center. We went early (8:15) on a 100 degree day, and the entire way up was in the shade. Some dropoffs, some narrow or rocky areas, and some switchbacks, but not too difficult if you are in average shape. After the 1st 1/4, the views get nicer and nicer and the top overlooking Springdale, the Watchman, and the areas we came from are really nice. Way back was partial sun but not bad either. This is a great hike if you are looking for more than a walk with a little challenge but not too difficult. Underrated. We used hiking poles which definitely helped.

Unassuming at first but spectacular at the top

This is an out and back trail that starts at the visitor center. At first after hiking mostly so close to the canyon, it seemed disappointing that this was more an open area and it was very warm this day. Once you finally start making your way up to the top though you do get your reward. There is a small look on top that provides the pay off with views.

Nice views

Nice trail. It was busy on a holiday. Beautiful views. Moderately strenuous for a short section. Didn't have time to go all the way but the views are nice even just doing 1.5 miles.

Very enjoyable trail

Enjoyed this not so difficult trail in Zion very much, we were lucky it was not very sunny in the afternoon that we did this trail, not sure it would be as enjoyable if it was too hot or sunny. A lot of room to sit and relax and enjoy the view once on top, highly recommend!

Mud - Do NOT Try This Trail if Raining

This is listed as an amazing signature hike for Zion and I am sure it is. I had wanted to see the view of the canyon from here. Unfortunately, the day we first got to Zion and planned for this hike, it rained and rained hard. While many places in the desert and in fact Zion have hikes you can do in the rain on rock, the base of this path is silt eroded from the canyon which simply turns to mud. Anyone going to Zion probably has a less than 2% of this happening to them. However, if it is raining for your trip pick another hike. We were convinced to turn back after slogging through the mud only to be met by another hiker who had turned around further up saying it only get worse. With that said, even a little elevation gives you great views into the canyon. See the pictures.

Decent climb with very rewarding views at top. Very little shade. Don’t let the first boring 1/2 mile fool you, it’s a great hike!

AMAZING VIEWS.

The view is AWESOME worth every uphill step. Mostly dried out, but about 3 spots with mud. A recent rock slide warning for about 100 ft, April 10, 2023

Underrated Trail

Very little talk about this trail but it was challenging and had great views. Access is from the visitor center. Definitely worth doing!

Moderately difficult climb, worth the effort

This was our first hike at Zion. Knowing what we know now, we would have done this in morning, vs afternoon(when we arrived, as even in October, with little shade it was hot! It was not too crowded at this time of year, so we were able to enjoy the hike, and a snack and a view at the top!
