If you have mobility issues, I am sad to say that the ferry may prove to be a trip too much, but it will depend upon how much you can still do. Boarding and alighting from the ferry at Hythe happens at the end of the pier, which extends quite a long way into Southampton Water. Consequently, the ferry is likely to move around in the swell and there is a bit of a climb up to the pier, from the landing stage. How steep and stable that is depends on the level of the tide and the swell, which can be quite large when other vessels pass by. Because the pier is quite long, it has a little train. The engine is an antique from a munitions factory, so of historical interest. In keeping with the narrow gauge, the coaches are quite small. I doubt they are big enough for a mobility scooter, but if you can manage to board the train it is an enjoyable ride. The good news is that Bluestar buses to Hythe are quite frequent from Southampton city centre and they will usually take a small mobility scooter. I think Hythe is a lovely little town, so well worth the effort, if you can get there.

Hello, only just seen your question, sorry for the delay in responding. There is a New Forest open top tour bus that definitely includes a stop at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. Google New Forest Tour. I know the tour bus is seasonal but there are also taxis available right outside the Ferry so a taxi would be an option - Google Marchwood Motorway Taxis. The taxi office is quite good at giving you an estimate if you ask. Enjoy your stay!!
