I decided to go for a drive and found myself outside Danson Parks gate. It was about 7pm on a lovely warm evening and I took a stroll around the lake, sat on the grass for a while with the House behind me and took in the view from there. It was spectacular. It was quiet and it was so good for my well-being.
I took 4 grandchildren the following Saturday and visited the play area (we didn’t have the correct clothes for the Splashpark). With varied ages and different interests, the children were difficult to follow - the three year old being the most challenging of course!
It was packed, the ice cream sellers were raking it in!
Take a picnic and plenty to drink - this can then be a cheap day out.
Parking at the weekend is £3.50 for the day - weekdays it is free.

Nicely kept, relatively big park with a boating lake. Links to other green space so quite a lot to explore. It has a limited number of paths so it felt quite crowded but otherwise nice.

Danson park is a massive well known park with a big lake in the middle. There’s plenty to do, from the rock gardens to the pub. Definitely worth a visit

Perfect place for the kids to blow off some steam. They absolutely love it here. Definitely will recommend.

I have lived near this beautiful park nearly all of my life but only fairly recently have I really appreciated how beautiful it is. The gardens are beautiful and it's the walk around the lake is a lovely one full of ducks swans & the odd dog! The park is huge & full of wide open space so you can take a picnic and not feel like you're near anyone.
Also, take a look at Danson House, it's stunning & I was lucky enough to have my wedding reception there. It's a very beautiful park.

Visited with our family, our five kids had a great time in the playground! Our only regret was we didn't bring bathing suits for the splash area!

Ich nahm hier am Samstagmorgen am Park Run teil. Der Park ist schön angelegt und lädt zum spaziergehen ein.

Beautiful open space, very well maintained with multiple facilities. Good for a walk & picnic. Due to the space, doesn't feel too busy.

Lovely park. Nice walk around the lake and good for buggies and bikes. Good play park with lots of choice for all ages. Went to the splash park the day it opened and it was good to see it open after all this time.

No unfortunately not
I understand the splash park is open from May to September (Bexleyheath council website) however it is not clear on the exact dates. Does anyone know the exact dates? ie. will it be open this weekend - 14th and 15th of September?

I have never seen anyone playing with there own control boats. There are a lot of weeds along the banks although when I was there a few weeks ago it looked like the park keepers were doing a cleaning up job of the bank.
