Maybe the best shelter I've been to in years. Friendly and helpful staff, dinner and breakfast adequate for those who do via ferrata and / or long-haul hiking, grappa "P38" excellent. Accommodation for the night in the norm of shelters, with perhaps more room in the room. Normal baths that create concentration of people in the early morning, which is common to almost all refuges worthy of the name (not high altitude hotels...). Very recommended, even if you do not travel via ferrata but as a stop for excursions of several days.

Years later, we climbed the path that leads to the refuge. The surrounding landscape is wonderful, dominated by the sumptuous massif of Monte Peralba. The route is, continuously, accompanied by the nice whistle of the many marmots that seem to greet and encourage the hiker in the climb, step by step. Arriving at the refuge, an architecturally compact structure, guarding against the most violent weather, you fill your eyes with the majestic chain of mountains that surround it. The reception is textbook with young, helpful, professional and welcoming staff. We had lunch drawing on the typical menu of the refuge that, over the years, maintains the reputation of a good restaurant, perhaps for the continued supervision of "grandmother" Anna, historic manager of the structure. Congratulations again.

After so many years I returned to the Calvi refuge and the positive memories were reconfirmed by the new management, fantastic. Great food and service. Very kind staff. And the unique panorama helps you experience positive sensations!

Beautiful place. Lovely landscape and well kept refuge. For the more experienced you can also visit the trenches. A mandatory stop when we go to Sappada

After a long hike we stopped with great pleasure in this 'restaurant'; after a short wait, given the crowding and without a reservation, they accommodated us with great kindness, asking us to share the table with another couple (as often happens in mountain refuges).
At the suggestion of the kind lady who took our order, together with the excellent wine served, we took the frico with polenta, with a side of peperonata: we were very satisfied!
The dishes were carefully prepared by the cook, using excellent raw materials and great attention to the overall taste: compliments to all the kitchen and service staff.
Honest prices.
Highly recommended to all those who have the pleasure of this beautiful walk!

It's worth the effort of the climb!
The excellent typical dishes, the kindness of the staff and the stupendous panorama are the right reward for those who reach this beautiful refuge, where it is possible to purchase the t-shirt with the "Rifugio Calvi" logo as evidence of their achievement (there are no somewhere else).

After a tiring and wet hike we arrived at this beautiful refuge nestled in the mountains.
We stopped to rest and were able to taste something.
We found everything good, from the frico to the venison stew with polenta.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Nice, welcoming retreat. Really nice spot to stop and eat something.
Helpful and polite staff.
We didn't use the overnight service so I can't say. But I saw that many people stopped here. Good sign.

Ciao non esiste, il comune quest'anno ha messo a disposizione un bus navetta che parte da Sappada e arriva fino alle Sorgenti del Piave. Ottima idea per evitare traffico e per chi non si sente di guidare su strade di montagna a tratti strette.

mi scuso per ritardo. con l'auto si arriva ai piedi del Peralba in prossimità delle sorgenti del Piave. un'ora di cammino piacevole e si arriva. per eventuali persone anziane o con difficoltà di movimento basta chiamare il gestore che vi verrà a prendere con il fuoristrada e vi porta al rifugio con gentilezza.
