Thank you Holly and David for an excellent day at your wood fire cookery course, we thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt so much! The day had a lovely relaxed feel to it, lots of opportunity to get hands on and make bread and pizza. David’s demonstrations were interesting and informative. Holly kept us fed and watered all day, there was certainly no shortage of anything. Thoroughly recommend Manna if you want to learn about wood fire ovens or to give to someone as a gift.

Had a great day today at the Sourdough Saturday course at Manna from Devon, which was birthday gift bought for me. Dave, who runs the course, knows his stuff and is a natural teacher and the perfect, genial host, sharing his knowledge and making the whole group feel welcome and comfortable. I've been extremely well fed too by Holly, who served up gorgeous food and drinks all through the day and I've learnt a lots of tips about improving my baking. And I shared the course with some good folk!
I think the course would suit any level of experience or skill and I would definitely recommend.

We are spoilt for choice with cookery schools in Devon but this is a MUST. We bought a wood fired pizza oven last year and have had a mix of good pizzas and then not so good. But today, after a course with David And Holly we are feeling optimistic. The pizza course is just excellent, suitable for beginners but also perfect for those who just wish to hone their skills. Intimate group so that you can learn together but also have a chance to ask lots of questions. David and Holly are relaxed and good fun and clearly experts at wood fired cooking. Thank you for being great hosts. We have come away with so many tips and enjoyed every minute.

We attended the Pizza masterclass and began the day absolute beginners! We leant lots about the process and using a wood fired oven. Holly was particularly patient with my initial attempts at stretching and shaping dough! Both David and Holly are extremely knowledgeable and approachable, just great hosts.

A fantastic day, we are newbies to wood fire cooking and this was the course for us. Everything was covered from what style of oven would suit you, lighting and keeping the fire going and the types of dishes you can cook in the oven. We were welcomed with coffee or tea as soon as we arrived. We cooked all day long, from scallops, pizzas, fish dishes and a chicken roast dinner followed by Apple tatin, washed down with wine. You won’t be able to eat another thing after a day here
Molly, David and Kit were great hosts and everything was thought out .
We were lucky as we also had a great group of people taking part with us on the day. Will definitely recommend,

Just back from a brilliant day filled with expert knowledge and hands on experience of choosing preparing and cooking fish and shellfish. Holly and David are wonderful hosts providing a relaxed and fun environment in a beautiful location overlooking Dartmouth. I cannot recommend this course enough if you love fish and want to know how to choose prepare and cook it well. Thank you Holly and David so much for your passion, knowledge, experience and the friendly fun day. We will be back. Fiona and Steve x

Day one of a two day weekend. Firstly, because of car problems I arrived late. David and Holly husband and wife team, we’re charm and grace personified. The day was….. great. Others on the course? Great bunch of people. David, course “Director” produced a whole day of none stop valuable advice. Let us not for get the “vast amount” of delicious food, capped off at the end of the day by a glass of wine…. Or six. Day one of two…. Fabulous. I have no doubt day two will be the same.
I’m staying “in house” the accommodation is immaculate, perfect, sober, 100% clean….. like your own hone.
So, in short… great. Just give yourself a treat and book.

If you own a wood-fired oven, or are thinking about buying one, this course is a must. We spent two days cooking with David and Holly. We cooked so many different dishes - the best pizza imaginable, but also a huge range of other foods - a curry, smoked salmon, focaccia, custard tarts, sausage rolls - to name just a few. We also learned so much about how to use our oven more effectively, and just had lots of fun, both cooking and eating a huge amount. David and Holly are excellent teachers and hosts.

Just returned from an excellent weekend at Manna from Devon cooking school. An absolute must if you have or are considering buying a wood fired oven. David's relaxed style made it not only enjoyable but we learnt so much. Plenty of hands on cooking and tons of great food to eat. Tip !! Do not have breakfast before you go. Both David and Holly are excellent hosts and i would recommend this place to anybody wanting to up their game

As others have said, if you own a wood fired oven of any type, this course is a must.
I learnt at least 5 things I could improve on within the first 2 hours and it didn't stop there. The style and delivery of tuition is great. I have done other cooking courses and on some you spend a lot of time with your head down chopping things and not listening. This course is definitely hands on, but at a better ratio so you have time to listen, observe and absorb David's knowledge and skills.
David and Holly were just lovely throughout the 2 days there, and had time for every single silly/stupid question I asked.

Hi Gary - I know that there have been specific events for children, as well, but I would suggest contacting Holly and David directly, with your question. All the dates have been on the website, so easy to pick and choose. I do know you'll have a great time!
