The entrance to the free Bubali Bird Sanctuary is a short walk down a muddy, unmaintained road directly across from the windmill in Palm Beach. There is some trash and the site is obviously not maintained regularly. From the tower there is a view over a small portion of the sanctuary but during the daytime there isn't much bird activity to view.

Pegamos um táxi para ir até o local porque era mais ou menos perto do nosso hotel, achando que seria um parque onde pudéssemos fazer uma caminhada e ver pássaros. Nada disso. É só uma plataforma metálica pequena, na qual você sobre e tem uma vista de uma área verde e de um rio, fechados para visitação. Subimos, olhamos e descemos, para constatar que perdemos tempo e gastamos nossos dólares no táxi à toa. Por isso ninguém no hotel entendeu quando dissemos que queríamos ir nesse local, não é um passeio.

Hi. Nothing special. Couple of burgs remaining turkey. Poor area with the same garbage in the edge of roads as in NYC. We have ( now) much better with swans, ducks , guises and beautifully water plants in the end of May-beg. of June

Unfortunately, we were there mid day on a very windy day. I couldn't hold my binoculars or my camera steady but I could see the beauty and only imagine the sights to behold on a less windy and not so hot time of the day.

This Bubali Bird Sanctuary has so much potential to be awesome. First, there are tons of different birds to see. Also, you see ducks, turtles, and iguanas. The only downside is the upkeep of the sanctuary. The watch tower is close to disrepair and all the dirt potholes on the road need major improvements. I hope they invest more into this hidden gem.

A disgrace to Aruba, the reservation is a filthy place with a lot of rubbish and dirt. The tower is in disrepair, there is garbage everywhere and remnants of wrong agreements lie between the bushes. There are just no words for it.

Not certain I saw the whole thing, but google maps took me to a quiet entrance with a few short trails and a treehouse overlook near the big red windmill. Lots of birds to be seen, and it's a different landscape from most of Aruba.

This is just a tower, which is about 60ft high, that overlooks a marshy area. I wouldn't expect to be wowed by varieties of birds, unless you're an expert birder and know what to look for. The tree cover was thick, I heard some birds but couldn't see them.
We were staying close, so it was no biggie, but do not go out of your way to check out.
Important to note, this area gets alot of non-tourist traffic. We found out, and saw firsthand, it is a popular cruising spot for area men, if you catch my drift.

Spend an early morning around the wetlands and you'll be baffled at the number of beautiful birds that show up. : from Glossy ibises, roseate spoonbills, purple gallinule, black skimmers, coots,... Awesome place.

Did you see any birds? Is 100-400 mm lens long enough to get clear picture of the birds? I will be there in Mid Dec.

I’ve been planning to go to the Bird Sanctuary since we decided to return to Aruba. The picture and comments on the rotted boards in the Tower really concern me. Is there an organization responsible for overseeing the bird sanctuary that will repair it?
Bird sanctuaries are great tourist attractions- it’s a shame Aruba hasn’t paid more attention to this place!

I would think that's a good question for Aruban officials, as a tourist I have no idea, but was disappointed in the care of the sanctuary. Hope you find your answer!
