I've wanted to try paddle boarding for ages and Ryan was recommended by a couple of people so my friend and I booked a lesson.
We were both a little nervous having never tried it before, but Ryan was brilliant and gave us a very thorough lesson before taking us out on the water.
We both loved it, and felt really confident by the end. If you're a beginner, I can't recommend this company highly enough. I'd be quite comfortable hiring a board and taking it out on my own now.

Fantastic morning paddle boarding. Ryan was great, good instructions at the start and then loads of fun. We saw turtles on our snorkelling break and Barbados looked great from the sea. I really recommend it.

We had a great time with Ryan
He was very accommodating to our schedule on our cruise and even picked us up at the silverseas cruise dock
He was very entertaining as he gave us a history lesson and lots of info on Barbados
Excellent activity to do on the water

My daughter and her friend had a lesson/tour. Ryan is a great instructor. There was just the two of them and they really enjoyed themselves. There were another group in the area with 2 instructors taking out 12 paddle boarders. Two to one is the way to go. They definitely learned more and had a better time in a small group. Ryan also rents out paddle boards so you don't have to take a lesson if you want to get out and enjoy yourself on the water.

I hired a board for the full two weeks of my holiday. A great price for the identical board that I have in the UK. A good variety of hire boards from beginner and yoga boards to expert, pro shape boards. Great advice for local surf spots or areas for touring and sight seeing. Perfect service.

My girlfriend was very interested in trying paddleboarding and did some research while we were holidaying on the beautiful island of Barbados and discovered SurfSUP Paddleboarding and I'm so glad she did.
Our instructor, Ryan, was fantastic, everything you would expect from someone in this field. He was laid back but engaging, fun but safety conscious and most of all a great instructor.
The service is mobile and within reason will travel to your nearest beach. The kit provided was good and although there was only three of us on the lesson he may well be capable of taking more so it's worth checking.
After the do's and don'ts were handled on the beach and the theory was explained we were let loose on the water. While shaky at first I settled into it and soon found myself a part of one of the most pleasurable, serene beach experiences ever!
Paddleboarding is a brilliant way to see the coastline and a really spectacular way to appreciate the crystal clear waters.
A superb bonus to going with SurfSUP is that your instructor who is out on the water with you brings along a waterproof digital camera to capture your paddleboarding experience, something that unless you had a dedicated family member on the beach with an impressive zoom lens you wouldn't capture.
If you're lucky enough to find yourself in Barbados and you're looking for something new and interesting to try you must try this.

Heros - Taught me and my friends to paddle board standing up, it was great fun they were really helpful and attentive - Has to be done if you are in Barbados!!
You'll find the guys with their boards, sat on the beach under an umbrella on Paynes Beach!!
They are cool, good value for money and it is great fun and real good exercise!

I booked my two chibren, aged 19 and 13, for a Paddleboarding session with Charlie and was highly impressed. He is extremely safety conscious, encouraging and immensely patient. The kids loved it and my 13 year old daughter picked up the technique almost immediately. Here's my recommendation: if you get the chance, bang on the suncream and get the kids on that paddleboard. Depending on water confidence I would say it's suitable for 8yrs and up, an hour's enough, and they'll certainly sleep well after it!. My only regret is I couldn't get on myself (due to a sick 9 year old), but next time....
In conclusion,Charlie is a lovely guy, a professional, and an uber Bajan, jam-packed with tales of the Caribbean. His motto is 'Born Fe Live' and I couldn't speak more highly of him, or the experience. A bona fide five stars!
P.S Book it early in your trip. If the weather and water conditions aren't suitable you'll have to re-schedule.

I've never written a review in my life but i had to about SurfSUP paddleboarding. Myself and my friend headed out on an evening paddle lesson with Charlie.Charlie is great at what he does, he explains everything in an easy way that you will pick up quickly. Charlie is full of great tips, has great patience and will tell you lots of stories and to add to all that he has a great sense of humor. ( i was terrified 2 stand on the board!) but he kept reassuring me and eventually up i got!!! After our 1st lesson myself and my friend were hooked and went for a lesson every day after that until we went home. We could have rented a board off Charlie and gone off by ourselves but to be honest having Charlie along added to the experience, we loved hearing his stories and just having a laugh so it was worth the little extra money. The only downside was that we hadn't discovered SurfSUP in our 1st week in Barbados because we would have been their everyday to go out paddleboarding. so anyone wondering what to do in Barbados go find Charlie at SurfSUP and go paddleboarding. Trust me you will have an amazing experience and you will become hooked.

While in Barbados learning stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) was one of the things that I had to do and SurfSUP Paddleboarding was recommended to me by the people I was staying with.
I went on my first lesson and I think I was hooked from that point. I lucked out because I was the only person going on that lesson, so it was a great way to try out SUP for the first time! Charles is a fantastic instructor, he knows the in's and out's of paddleboarding, is full of tips, has patience and has a great sense of humor. (Also, remember to ask Charles about sailing, he has good stories.) You learn the basics of SUP on the beach and then soon you hit the water and away you go. Both of the lessons I took started out on Pebbles Beach and we paddled up and down Carlisle Bay from there; I can't think of a better setting!
I admit I was pretty tense for the first half of my first lesson because of my nerves and as a result I kept falling off the board. But Charles quickly put me at ease, gave me a lot of confidence and soon I loosened up; something clicked (as he said, "the light bulb went off") and then it was smooth paddling.
My second lesson was in a group, but it was just as great. This time though the lesson was in the evening and it was really beautiful on the water. I would definitely recommend taking at least one evening SUP lesson. The sunset at the end capped off a fantastic paddle.
I would highly recommend SurfSUP. If you want a good mix of activity, relaxation, great views and a few good laughs you need to sign up for a lesson. Also, Sammy at the SurfSUP shack is a great help and always smiling.
