We stayed in Varadero for a week in August and were looking for an excursion that took us off the resort. There were tour packages offered in the lobby of our resort but they felt pricey so we decided to search online. Very thankful that I found Jose's service.
His excursion included much more and at a better price. For example, Tour Operators offered a group tour on a small bus and then offered a half hour ride in Havana at an additional cost. Our trip was a private tour in the Classic Car from start to finish!
Jose offered a tour guide for an additional fee and it was the best $20 we spent. Our tour guides included a mother-daughter team. Gemma (the daughter) and her mom (a retired school teacher whose name I forgot) were amazing! Their English was very good and they took us to all the sites in Havana. They gave us a history lesson as we drove from location to location and walked through the streets of Havana. In addition to this, they also acted as our "protectors". You will encounter beggars in Havana as well as vendors and scammers. They could read the situation and quickly stepped in to dismiss anyone if we ever felt uncomfortable.
One of our stops was at La Triada where they offered cigars and rum. Tour Guide Gemma recommended a bottle of rum called Legendario. I tried it and it was the best rum I have ever tasted. I thought it was going to be expensive but it was only $15USD for the bottle. I only bought one bottle as I thought I would be able to get a better deal at the Duty Free. This is not the case! Duty Free was charging between $20-$25USD at the airport. TRAVEL TIP: Get your liquor at La Triada.
The only negative part of this tour was where we stopped for lunch. Our group was looking for authentic Cuban food in a small family-run diner or restaurant in Havana. Instead, we were taken to an upscale restaurant on the outskirts of Havana that was way too pricey. TRAVEL TIP: Bring snacks with you or purchase food/snacks/drinks at different vendors while walking through Havana. You can easily find items for a buck or two.
In the end, we compared our private tour to the Sunwing/Nexus tour that other hotel guests went on and our tour included way more things to do and see for less $$. We would definitely recommend this tour (and definitely book a Tour Guide) if you are looking to book a day trip to Havana.

We traveled with friends. My friend had organized everything with José before leaving. José was always responsive in his responses and gave good advice in choosing excursions.
The team on site, made up of a driver Daniel and a French-speaking guide Yuri, was excellent. Always punctual, they adapted to our requests. We took 3 excursions departing from our hotel in Varadero and we had the same partner on the 3 super top excursions. We really had a great time with them.
I recommend with your eyes closed.

Our day trip with Friendly Cuba Voyage from Varadero to Havana and back was wonderful. Tony was a professional describing the history of Havana from the Siege of Havana to the Revolution and much more. Tony and driver ( can’t remember his name sorry) were very friendly and excellent safe driving. Would definitely do a tour with them again.

It has without a doubt been an oasis in the desert, after so many disappointments with agencies that teased you for a trip that was not worth it, we discovered Friendly Cuba Voyage, and it was the best bet by far. We loved it and without a doubt when we return to Varadero again we will repeat with them but this time to another destination 😁

Jose and Dariel were the best! We did a tour to Havana and a second day trip to Bay of Pigs. We got to experience so much more than taking an excursion through the travel companies! Jose’s English was great and his knowledge of history remarkable. We stopped to see so many things along the way. Anyone wanting to experience a safe trip, full of information please book with these guys!!! You will not regret it. Best tours we have ever had on any holiday! What a way to see Cuba!!!!

We did a tour from Varadero to the Bay of Pigs. Tony was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of Cuba. It was fun to ride in the 1955 Chevy. We snorkeled in the Bay of Pigs and then went swimming in a cenote that was walking distance from the snorkeling spot. Other stops included a hummingbird sanctuary and a crocodile farm. It's a private tour so you can plan your own stops and see what you want. There wasn't much fruit at the resort so we stopped at a fruit stand and bought some bananas, mango, and star fruit. I brought some small toys and candy for the children and seeing their happy faces was a highlight of the day. I would definitely book with Friendly Cuba Voyage the next time that I am in Cuba.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Jose and our driver (can't think of his name were great. Jose's english is very good and learned so much from him. I highly recommend Friendly Cuba Voyage.. La réponse est tardive mais peut peut-être intéresser d'autres voyageurs.
Si vous ne souhaitez pas trop vous éloigner de Varadero, vous pouvez organiser une excursion à Matanzas, à Cardenas ou encore à la Baie des cochons.
Plus loin, Trinidad et Cienfuegos sont inévitables!

Je l'ai contactée par mail. José, le responsable, est très réactif et décrit parfaitement les excursions proposées. Une fois sur place, l'organisation et les excursions répondaient parfaitement à nos échanges de mails.
