Had a nice visit. Picked up a taxi from when the cruise ship came in and a lovely driver who used to work in the cruise lines took us to the beach and the town.
As you’d expect he took us to where his friend had a restaurant - le Petit Francois. We were well looked after with cocktail and lunch.
Usual beach hawkers trying to sell things, some over priced stalls. But very lovely beach with sun loungers to rent at $5 a day.

A very quiet beach for nothing dangerous, recommended to go and have a good family beach port is beautiful go recommended

I came to this beach off the MSC ship. As soon as you arrive at the port you are attacked by taxis we paid 70 dollars to go and return to the beach, I state that the distance from the port to the beach is very short will be 10 minutes by car.
Arrived at the beach two sunbeds 15 dollars. Disappointing sea, rough seaweed. Very well equipped beach, but the local guys are very insistent, they spend every 2 minutes asking you if you want to eat or drink and try to make you buy in their shops. Recommendation for those who go on a cruise, not to take the first taxis to walk a little further and not go to the plant where MSC rests but to go further, better sea with a small inlet and always calm!

Came into the cruise port for the day and found this gem of a beach. We were dropped off right at Blue JackTar Hotel and walked straight onto Jack Tar Beach/Jack's Kite Bar and Grill. We were the only ones there that day! Fabulous bar service (and prices!), free chairs, great beach to hang out and enjoy the small waves. Beach and water were clean! Jack's Kite Bar and Grill took credit cards :)
We took a taxi from the cruise port & the driver waited for us all day. $70 roudtrip total. I did not negotiate as it was worth it to me for getting myself and the two teenage girls back to the port in time. Paid the driver cash when we arrived back at port.
It was a very quiet day for us - the main crowd was just west of us at Playa El Chaparrell. Highly recommend this beach for access to drinks/food/quiet!

Aivan mahtava ranta. Täällä ei tammikuussa tarvinnut olla rannalla punaisten lippujen takia. Veteen pääsi hyvin ja sieltä pääsi myös pois. Ranta syveni sopivaan tahtiin ja oli pohjaltaan puhdas ja vesi kirkas. Yksi parhaimmista rannoista, jossa olemme pulikoineet.

Disappointed in beach . Littered with garbage and wood . Was able to swim but had to watch for logs in the water . They try to clean it up daily especially around the spots they bring in excursions from the cruise ships. They work hard with several crews daily but seems the garbage comes back the next day .

Dieser Strand war wirklich schön und macht mit dem goldenem Sand seinem Namen alle Ehre. Wir hatten zwar Schwierigkeiten, ihn zu erreichen (besser mit Geländewagen), aber einmal angekommen hat es sich wirklich gelohnt. Er wurde hauptsächlich von Locals besucht und von Quad/Buggy Touren, letztere bleiben nicht so lange, sodass es schön ruhig ist. Das Essen im "Restaurant" war sehr lecker, aber die Toiletten sind eine Zumutung. Nichtsdestotrotz absolut empfehlenswert!

This is a great beach with nice sand, no rocks, wide beach area with some wind and waves. Water was warm and lovely, seating was difficult however.

je vous pose cette question car je ne me réjouis pas d'aller au batchata hotel car la plage y est bien moins belle qu'ailleurs et notre tour opérateur nous à mal orienté pour cette réservation car il y a bien plus de possibilité en étant à Samana ou punta cana. N'ayant pas pris d'assurance annulation et bien je me renseigne car seulement 4 excursions possible via le tour opérateur et donc pas grand choix pour voir une ile avec une belle plage etc et voir le sourire de ma chérie....Donc je cherche à me rendre à de belles plages qui ne soit pas à des kms de l'hôtel Riu Batchata.

Iberostar Costa Dorada is right on Playa Dorada Beach, the last resort on the east end of the beach. When you walk through the resort, past the dive shop that I used last year, walk to the right and you can walk past allot of resorts and hit some really nice stretches of player Dorada beach. Enjoy Republica Dominicana, my future home, the people are really friendly , the music , food , drinks are all great and try to do a catamaran tour or go into puerto plata which I did not have a chance to do, but will in the near future and see the real Domincan Republic.

I am debating between visiting playa dorada or paradise island. Dorada is closer to the cruise port but paradise island looks nicer. Has anyone been to both and which do you prefer? Thanks!

Actually its really discouraged at the beaches and the pools, the vendors are relentless so its not as if you can have a quiet undisturbed little spot. I suppose you could walk around the cove and fimd yourself a secluded little place but it womt be convenient to the hotel for washrooms or beverages
