Tour was fun. R.V. Private Tours was waiting for me when the cruise ship docked.
Transportation was in a nice comfortable van with good air conditioning.
When returned from tour and had lunch, R.V. Private Tours was waiting to take me back to the ship. Definitely recommend this company. I would use them again.

Rosi and Miguel were the best! Rosi was very knowledgeable of all the Puerto Plata history. He was able to provide us with WHATEVER we needed! We asked him for chicharrones and he took us to the best chicharrón spot. Please book with RV tours because they will make your trip an enjoyable one! Un saludo a Rosi y Miguel de San Cristóbal!

Our group of 16, including friends, family, teenagers, young adults and 50+ year-olds had the most amazing time! Communication with Rene was excellent. We walked less than 10 minutes from the port Signs were clearly marked and the bus was nicely air-conditioned that took us to the ATVs. Helmets and goggles were provided but you should bring a bandanna, but they will sell some at the site. And be prepared to have the most fun you’ve had in a while! The weather and scenery was beautiful and insightful. We smiled much and laughed so hard! We had agreed to a tour thru town and that was interesting. Glad I wasn’t driving! Our driver took us to a local restaurant. a lunch of fried chicken, beans, rice, salads, fried plantains, and beer was provided family style. Everyone enjoyed it immensely I think the price was $11 a person. So reasonable. we were taken to do some exploring in town. We stopped at a cigar shop, jewelry shop, and then had time to walk around on our own for a bit. We were back to the port area in plenty of time.

We stopped by cruise and spent all day with RV tours and René. The day was amazing and was very nice with René as our guide. We went Zip Lining, rode motorcycles, had lunch and still gave us time to go through Puerto Plata. Most people waited a long time after disembarking to start their tour, but we walked outside the port where René was waiting and left immediately to enjoy all day. The day was amazing with René and RV Tours!

While I was on the Carnival Mardi Gras Cruise, I decided to book my own excursion, and RV Tours did not disappoint. For my wife and I, the total was $117.00, which included a comfortable van with AC, Wi-Fi, a bottle of Superior Brugal Rum, bottled water, and an amazing driver and tour guide, Francisco. We visited various spots, including a rum tasting, a cigar shop, the town, and my favorite—a local restaurant that had everything hot and ready for us. The food was amazing, just like how my Abuela cooks. To get to their van, we had to leave the port which took like 7 minutes and walk an additional 2 minutes along the sidewalk, where they had a sign with my name on it. I saved hundreds and experienced a lot more by going through RV Tours. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a great excursion. I'm bilingual, but the other couples preferred English, and Francisco's English was perfect. Do yourself a favor and book with RV Private Tours—you'll thank me later.

This tour was booked through RV Private Tours website. Rene Robles was a point person. From every email correspondence, he explained the tour and all that was included.
We had quite a little hike from the cruise ship to the pick up spot. When we arrived, we were greeted by Edgar from RV tours. Edgar was the best personal tour guide. He was very attentive to all our needs. The van was clean and spacious for our family of 4. We were immediately offered cool drinks from the cooler.
We spent the day going to Mocorix Rum Factory, Umbrella Alley, Pink Street, Downtown square in Puerto Plata, The San Felipe Fortress, The Amber Museum and Del Oro Chocolate Factory. We were able to see all the sights and learn some of the history of the city. Edgar was a great tour guide. He answered our questions and was very imformative the whole day explaining the sights. We were unable to go up the mountain via cable car due to the weather. One surprise for our trip was an authentic DR meal at a local restaurant. We were greeted with fried chicken, plantains, rice, beans and salad. What a wonderful meal! Edgar brought out the cooler with Coke, Sprite, cold water and RUM!
As we made our way back to the drop off point, he suggested we use a taxi to get us back to the cruise port. The taxi ride was around $10USD and well worth it! Saved us about 10-15 min walk in the DR heat.
Overall, a great experience. We saw many popular sites and made a friend in Edgar. My kids still talk about all we got done in the 5 hours our visit allowed.

We did the tour with a 4 and 7 year old.
Renee is great he has a new baby so he is a very safe driver.
Because you are doing the tour private if you are staying on a resort there is absolutely no RUSH which is great when young children are involved.
