The Duns River Falls tour was worth the money. The falls are spectacular. It takes about an hour to do. The big negative is the gauntlet of Jamaican vendors you are forced to pass through to get back to your bus. They are slick sales men and women who are as persistent as a stalker. This took the shine off what was a great experience. We will not be coming back!
A woed of advice is to tell all the vendors you have no money or cards. And run don't walk.

I was in Montego Bay for my birthday and we took a Day trip to Ocho Ríos. We absolutely loved the falls. It was a true authentic Jamaican experience. The locals were so helpful and the cost was free you just needed to tip the guides if they assisted you. I am planning to return again this year! Awesome Experience

There's a few locals that hang out here selling items and drinks. There's also a few that will guide you up for tips. Much cheaper than Dunns and it has the cool water with the warm sea so you can experience both waters.

Myself, my husband and 2 adult children (ages 21 &22) visited this site whilst on holiday in Jamaica. The views were spectacular and the waterfall a great site to behold. Wear comfortable shoes (Trainers) and clothes as it is rocky with lots of water. Everything went well in the falls.
However the woman at the entrance selling trinkets and cheap tatt stole money from me when i was trying to pay her for a bracelet as my way of supporting small businesses, as some of these people struggle to survive. After this experience my family and I have decided never to return to Jamaica. The island seems to be full of money making swindlers and thieves, which makes for a very unpleasant experience.

great to do and spectacular to view but like a conveyor belt but worth a go, we booked as part of a trip but a lot cheaper if you do it yourself, and catch a taxi as some did

I just got home from Jamaica to look that my dvd that they charge me 40usd for to be a blank disc do not buy from them they lie to you I am so upset about this and the so called tour person took me back to get the money aswell just goes to show what they do for money

タクシーで行きました。車から降りると、Little Dunn's Riverと書かれた黄色いTシャツを着たおじさんが駆け寄ってきて、私はオフィシャルガイドだから案内するとのこと。Dunn's River Fallsと違い、こちらはパブリックで入場料もいらないのですが。。一応案内をお願いし、滝登り。Dunn's River Fallと比べてかなり小さいのですが、こちらの足場は滑りやすく、結果的にガイドしてもらって助かりました。時折、おじさんオススメの撮影スポットで写真も撮ってくれました。上流は道路にさえぎられてそれ以上はいけませんが、ここでローカルの人が体を洗ったり、歯磨きしたり、洗濯していました。下流は小さなビーチになっていて、川の冷たい水が海へ流れ込んでいます。小さい魚もたくさんいました。あまり観光客はおらず、ローカルの人のための滝という感じでした。

Little Dunn’s River is a well kept secret. No frills just nature unleashed. This is a cascading waterfall . The flow of water burbles as it moves thorough the rocky area. Rocks are slippery so shoes are advised to wear, my local guide a friend of mine guided me throughout our adventure. I had no shoes so I was advised to skip the slippery rocks.
The journey to the small beach area is rough one must be skilled to do so. However once you are there, it’s worth every minute of the bumpy journey. The water is pristine clear, the ocean meets the local river. Although rocky there is a swimming area. Be careful, if you enjoy adventure this is a must. The waterfalls are powerful and the water is icy cold but after a few minutes easy to get used to. This is the definition of nature untouched.
We also explored the top of the falls from another area. Rocks are slippery, so shoes definitely recommended. The magical sounds of the waterfall puts you on total relaxation mode.
The best part of this adventure is that’s there is no entrance fee. A must if you’re in the local area.

Is it safe to walk from the cruise port to the waterfalls and back

Hi, we walked from the little Dunn’s waterfall into town and passed the cruise port and often passed other tourists so seemed like a regular route. It’s along quite a busy road and it’s before the large Dunn’s waterfall which is frequented by lots of tour buses etc. Apart from getting asked if you want to buy any soulvenirs, tours or taxis there is not hassle.

Is Dunns river suitable for someone who cannot swim?
Well I cannot swim and I have visited there before. So yes it is suitable. Just don't go putting yourself in a "swimmers situation".
