Beautiful well kept Island
2019年10月 • 夫妻情侣
Pigeon island is calm and very pretty. Reasonable entrance fee US$7 and can be reached by A1 bus from Rodney bay, just ask the driver to take you off route for extra US$6. Walk back to main road for bus back or along the beach.
There are well mapped walks around the island and 2 quiet beaches. The walk to top of Fort Rodney not too bad but more of a strenuous climb to the higher peak.
The views are amazing though.
The Jambe de bois restaurant is lovely, good food and quirky furniture. Good to sit and relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Great views on clear days
2016年1月
We were at the Sandals Grand which is right next door. I think the entrance fee was $4 US. and they sell maps for $5 but you wont need it. There are plaques at each ruin and signs pointing to the top platform. There is also a place to eat but we did not go in. If you enjoy historic ruins this is a neat place. I made it to the main platform on top and the views were wonderful. You can also hike to the top of the hill on the other side, which is even higher. My husband did that hick and I waited in the shade for him He told me it was like a oven, but enjoyed it (he's a energizer bunny) .

Enjoyed the stroll and steep climb to a great view
2014年12月 • 家庭
Beautiful! Gorgeous! And access to a quiet, white powdery sand beach overlooking sapphire blue waters. There is a small admission fee to get in the park. There is even a small rstaurant/bar inside the museum. The walk around this old fort is interesting. There are small markers where you can learn about its history but there is very little left of this fortress. It has not been well preserved.

The climb to the highest point of the fort is steep. Watch your steps! Good cardio though. But once up there, you will be rewarded with a view of Reduit beach in the east and the Sandals resort just ahead, and a peek at Martinique.

A definite stop when you are in St Lucia.

The interpretive center was closed for renovation so there wasn't a lot to see. Hiked to the lookout and it had nice views. Saw a few cannons and old walls and that's about it. Went down to the beach and hung out after the cruise ship people left and it was great timing and relaxing.

Very Interesting and Cool Hike!
2014年9月 • 夫妻情侣
This park was very neat! It took my husband and I about 2 1/2hrs to hike from peak to peak and check out all the historical sites in the park. It was well worth it (it's about $7 US dollars to visit but to keep the park up and going, we were glad to pay the entrance fee).

We were very happy we visited Pigeon Island and learn a little more about Saint Lucia.

We went here many times on our trips to St.Lucia and always loved it !

Its very imformative but take water and wear good shoes.

Not for little kids unless they are carried. You can't push them here !

Island history
2014年7月 • 家庭
We had been on the gorgeous beach and snorkelled in the crystal clear water. It was almost deserted - beautiful beach. We didn't hire beach chairs just sat on our towels as we weren't sure how long we would be there. We ended up staying for ages as this place is a little gem. The hike up to the ruins of the Fort lookout was a bit tricky - the climb down was a lot slower! It was hot so take water. The view from the look out points was beautiful. The ruins of the officers mess etc was interesting. We went to the History centre as we are history buffs and being English we already knew some of the Island history but this information was specific to this area and was all new to us. It was a great day out.

A fascinating piece of history
2014年8月 • 夫妻情侣
We love visiting Pigeon Island when we are in St Lucia as it is a really fascinating place to explore. The climb up to Fort Rodney is well worth it for the views alone, but looking around the old ruins and thinking what it must have been like for those soldiers in impractical European uniforms puts the experience into perspective. We also enjoyed lunch at the Jambe de Bois Bar on the island, sitting on the terrace overlooking Rodney Bay in this relatively quiet and undisturbed beauty spot. The interpretation centre is currently closed for refurbishment but it didn't spoil our visit not to be able to go in there. There are toilets and showers available if you want to go swimming from the beach, where the snorkelling is good. Pigeon Island is a great place to while away a few hours.
