Went onto Black Rock for a little cruise around with friends as part of a North Wales trip. Great fun but sand a bit of a bugger to get off car afterwards. You just to have to not be stupid and respect the place you are in

First went here 30+ years ago and have kept going back. In summer its lovely to go swimming here....in winter its great to just walk along the beach.

Had such a lovely day walking the beach today ! Free parking and very quiet . We all have just had the best day ever . Back in the hotel now warming up ready for tomorrows adventure !

We are regular visitors to Black Rock Sands Morfa Bachan, we stay at the delightful Capel Nazereth at the end of Beach Road. It is a beautiful Converted Chapel that is now two Great Holiday lets and reasonably priced too. Ideally Situated for the Beach, Golf Course, Walking and of course Porthmadog.
The Beach is Clean, long, amazing and offers great dog walking around the curtilage of the golf course to the little village of Borth-y-Gest. Great little cafes here for refreshments, some dog friendly to well behaves dogs
The views up to Moel-y-Gest at 263 metres inland beyond the golf course can be seen from the beach, and then west around to Criccieth Castle on the Lleyn Peninsular.

A beautiful beach which feels like it goes on for miles and miles. A great place for dogs (and kids!) to have a run around or like mine investigate the dunes. You can drive on the beach however when we were there (end of Steptember) the first entrance via Beach road was locked off. On the plus side the other main entrance was open and no one was manning it so didn't have to pay the usual £5 fee!

One of those rare beaches that you can drive onto and find plenty of space to yourself. Beautiful golden sand, sand dunes and a flat beach whichnis safe to bathe in.

My favourite beach - this has even overtaken my love for Talacre Beach.
Due to my cancer, my mobility is practically shot now - I can't walk far at all and suffer excruciating pain so being able to drive on is perfect for me - we went on this beach every single day of our holiday and had a fantastic time each and every time.
The beach was clean and well-patrolled by lovely coastguards who were so polite and friendly.
We stayed on the dog friendly half and that side was clean too. Other drivers on the beach all seemed considerate - only slight downer was on Sunday when my husband was driving off the beach at below the 10mph speed limit and he had to emergency stop when a small golden-coloured spaniel suddenly ran infront of our car because she wasn't on her lead and her owner was taking no notice of her dog and was too busy chatting to the other women she was with - she then had the cheek to stand and give us the most evil hate-filled glare for ages before she then moodily got her dog and put her on her lead as the other women who were with her were giggling like schoolgirls. Whoever you are, I really hope you read this - if it wasn't for my husband being vigilant and driving slower than the speed limit (you may have noticed we actually had two dogs of our own in the back of the car!), you would have lost your poor dog that day - by the time you noticed anything was wrong, she had already moved from the front of our blue car (just so you recognise yourself) and had come along the passenger side of our car and I was actually smiling at her because I was relieved she was okay and I was assuring my poor husband that she was okay because he was terrified he'd hit her when I clocked you giving us the most hateful glare I've ever seen from anyone. You should be angry at yourself, not us!

Picture perfect beach with golden sands and views of mountains and Criccieth Castle. You can park on the beach for £5 or stay at one of the numerous camping and caravan sites nearby which have easy access to the beach from behind the dunes.

This beach had been recommended to my girlfriend and I and after paying the £5 charge (day rate) we made our way onto the beach and parked up. There was plenty of room to park our vehicle and no matter what type of vehicle you have you will be able to comfortably drive along the beach.
The views from the beach were simply wonderful with the hills behind us and Criccieth Castle to the right and I would recommend that people walk along the beach and sample the amazing colours that can be seen in the caves.
The beach is very flat and vast which means that people of all ages can stroll along at their leisure without fear of walking into disrupting people playing games and there was no rubbish on the beach meaning that you can take your footwear off and go barefoot without fear.
The icing on the cake was that sun shone brightly throughout the time we spent on the beach.

Hi, do the barriers open at a certain time in a morning? Also is there anywhere else other than the beach where I can park as I'd like to also visit at sunset during the summer months, all being well but understand the barriers close at 8pm. Thank you in advance 😊

Hi. In the Summer the barriers open at 9am and close at 8pm. There is a small road turning right at the barriers where you can park and a short walk to the beach.

VW camper should be fine as long as you keep to the hard sand. Hose down the underside when you get home to remove the sand and salt though.

Apparently only before April and after September but every time we go there’s lots of dogs all year round so should be fine hope this helps

Hi if you are camping you will need an Entertainment Pass you should look on Haven Site for prices. The early entertainment is geared for toddlers and is really good with the Seaside Squad my little Granddaughter who is nearly 4 absolutely loved it especially Rory, and still remembers always saying cane we go back on holiday and get ready for the Disco lol hope this helps!!! Plus we had a baby of 11 months and even she enjoyed the Seaside Squad!!!!
