Derek was super flexible with my schedule and accommodated my changing schedule. The sea kayaking itself was great. I got to do a little "work" in the waves and headed to Lovers Beach, where I had the place to myself. I looked for shells and swam a bit then headed back. I quizzed Derek on the local restaurants I hadn't tried yet, and he gave good recommendations. Thanks Derek!!!

My sons and I did the kayak and snorkel tour with Derek. He was a great guide and found some cool things while we snorkeled. We saw some lobsters under a few rocks, a stingray, and some neat coral formations along with all the tropical fish. It was a nice way to get some exercise in during our vacation on Nevis!

The Kayak tour with Derek was very informative and fun! Snorkeling was great, followed by a delicious local snack. We even had a surprising sea turtle sighting! I would highly recommend!

We had a great time kayaking with Derek. The tour was easy and relaxing. Beautiful views of the island. Can’t wait until we come back in March!!

We used Kayak Nevis out of Oualie Beach for a tour of the island. They offered both single or double kayak rentals. The water views were beautiful. Our guide, Derek, was friendly and very knowledgeable. He went snorkeling with us, which was nice because he showed us some neat things that we definitely would not of seen otherwise. After we finished snorkeling, we kayaked along the coastline which provided a great vantage point to see the beautiful beaches. Looking forward to our next visit. Very cool tour...highly recommended!

We had a great experience when we took a tour with Kayak Nevis. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the island and the double kayaks were perfect for sharing. We stopped for a light snack and did some snorkeling. The tour provides masks and snorkels. Great tour!

My husband and I took a tour with Kayak Nevis out of Oualie Beach. The water was beautiful and the kayaking not too strenuous. If you want more of a workout you can kayak back, otherwise you’re just paddling with the current. We stopped in a lovely cove for a snack and snorkeling. Our guide was great. He snorkeled with us which was nice because he pointed things out. After snorkeling we kayaked further down the beaches. It was a great way to see the coastline. The kayak rentals were double or singles with comfortable seats. Definitely recommend this tour.

Ahead of travelling to Nevis I looked for windsurfing hire, I found Winston, and emailed him some months before we travelled.
As we were also staying at the resort where he is based, and having agreed a weeks hire for board and rig at $350 US. for the week I felt confident that on this holiday I would be able to windsurf to my hearts content. Not So.
In our email chit chat well ahead of the holiday Winston did explain he didn't really do much windsurfing hire these days, and the deal basically meant I would keep the board and rig for the week, no problem I thought.
I explained my standard of ability and all seemed fine. I asked him to send pics of the equipment, which he duly did. With the other activities me and my girlfriend had planned I wouldn't be likely to windsurf each and every day, so this set up suited me perfectly, I could sail around the bay, and he wouldn't have to keep an eye out.
Come to organise the hiring and pick out a board and rig, and his whole attitude had changed, he said I couldn't Windsurf here and that he only rents high end kit. I had already explained I wasn't a beginner in my emails, but felt it best to take a board with a dagger board, that I could uphaul knowing this represented the easiest board to sail, and the safest. I wasn't looking to rent a 200 litre sinker with a 6.5 meter sail !!
He then commented that he was only renting equipment under duress ! which struck me as a very odd stance to take.
If he had any doubts as to my ability, he could have suggested a test sail about together, he could have even suggested lessons, all of which i would have happily considered, but to point blank refuse hire and do a complete u turn on what had been agreed was more than slightly disappointing.
A day or so later I was then approached by another guest at Oualie who knew I was there to windsurf and my story broadly matched her own, so it wasn't just me that got the brush off !

Went to Nevis expecting to do some half decent windsurfing. Winston Crooke is the only person for miles around who rents windsurfing equipment. We had emailed him months before. It turned out we could not windsurf in front of our hotel (where it was windy most of the time) due to many rocks in the water. Instead he told us to windsurf at Oualie Beach where he is based. There is little or no wind there. His equipment was not very new or good. After one windsurf, gave up. He also charged for bike rental to get to & from our hotel & Oualie Beach. This, after paying him $450 U.S. for the not so great windsurfing equipment. Never offered to refund at least part of our money. Feel totally ripped off.

We found the owner, Winston Crooke, to be a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful fellow, with a nice selection of Trek bicycles for sale or rent in his shop. He leads road and mountain bike tours for all levels of riders on Nevis, a beautiful tropical destination. We highly recommend that anyone interested in bicycling (or windsurfing or kayaking) on Nevis contact Winston at his shop.

thank you for taking the time to write this review. I emailed Winston about equipment rentals before I read your review. We are visiting St. Kitts in mid-November and I was looking forward to hopping over to Nevis to do some windsurfing, but now that I read about the overpriced, outdated equipment, I will skip it. There is nothing worse than trying to use bad equipment! You saved me some aggravation. Considering you just went in February, I cannot imagine that Winston has upgraded his equipment.
