Great beach-went twice this week and there were no more than 10 people there. Lots of sun and shade, and Eula’s serves great food. Definitely plan a day around this beautiful beach.

A great little bay which was almost empty when we were there. It has one small cafe serving food and drink and selling sarongs and a souvenir stall . However it is a long drive if you are coming from the West of the Island and the roads are not good with plenty of potholes. Allow an hour and a quarter from Crown point. Worth having a map as well as it is sometimes difficult to tell the main road apart from the side roads

This idealic bay is just beautiful and peaceful.A horseshoe sandy beach with palm trees on it's edge and mangroves behind it and only one building,the restaurant,in sight.You can just walk straight into the sea and if you are a good swimmer,the snorkeling is good but you do have to swim out a bit for the best reefs(best if you go by boat)

This is one of the best beaches in Tobago for swimming and snorkeling. It's NOT a developed beach with lifeguards and amenities. Pay attention to the tides and the time of year you're visiting as well. Usually from May to September seas are very calm in Tobago. Not sure why certain websites say this area isn't safe. Every time I visit I have a great experience, whether there are others on the beach or it's completely deserted. If crowds and loud music are not your thing, this is the beach for you. Be sure to check out Eula's restaurant on the beach for a yummy lunch after a good swim.
TIP: the beach is usually deserted before 10 in the morning. If you want a beachbfor yourself, this is for you. If you're more comfortable with a couple people around, go after 10.

Simply stunning. We were the only people there! Picturesque, tranquil and just paradise. Water was swimmable but a little choppy at the shore, but certainly worth a go. Loved it.

Gorgeous beach, turquoise water with a sandy bottom that drops off close to shore. Waves that are large eenough to be fun but not scary. Lovely restaurant that serves great island food - stewed chicken, grilled fish and shrimp, rice and peas or fríes, drinks. Pretty souvenirs. When we were there in February 2022 there were 5 other small groups sharing the beach with us.

This is how it is supposed to be ! No hair braiding, conch selling , crowds . Just couples enjoying a Caribbean beach the way it was ! Enjoy it now while you can as it eventually somebody will f**k it up to make more money in the short term and destroy a pearl in the crown that is Tobago!

February to beginning March 2021 was not a good time to visit. The water was rough and it had a huge dip. We simply relaxed on the beach. There was no one bathing for good reason. The restaurant on the beach was great. The food was wonderful.

We took a day trip over to Tobago from Trinidad and had decided to road trip around the entire island. We happened to stumble upon this hidden bay and we’re treated to an incredible beach and view.
The beach is large and mostly empty making it super easy to plop down a towel and relax and enjoy the view. There is a swing attached to a tree, and a small souvenir shop nearby.

Is there a coastal hike from Castara to Englishman's Bay? If so is it regarded as safe? Thankyou!

You can follow the north side rd put of Castara and walk on the road. There isn't a coastal path. The only danger would be from passing cars as the road is narrow in places and quite winding.

Hi, it is only a 5 minute drive, you can always get someone to run you up there ( and back ) or you can walk it in about 45 minutes, we do it all the time. There are guys with boats on the beach who can run you up there, more romantic as you see the island from the sea as Columbus did !

I'm in Tobago right now and my boyfriend and I plan to hire a car to explore beaches and forts etc. Would love to head to Englishman's Bay but have been out off by reading the odd remark online about thefts and muggings, even here. Is it safe? Where did you park? Are there any vendors there? Any tips would be so welcome.

Way too late for the person who asked the question - but - we found it all very safe, and stunningly beautiful. We also had a lovely meal in the cafe/restaurant/souvenir shop on the beach. We went several times, and each time was lovely. The sea is great too, but shelves very quickly, so hold on to your kids!
