The water was calm when my wife and I went snorkeling. Others were in the water doing the same thing. We were good swimmers and didn't use a life jacket, though other swimmers who were snorkeling did wear life jackets. You don't have to swim far out from the beach to see marine life. We saw all manner of animals, including sponges corals, anemones, starfish, sea urchins, among others. And reef fish large and small -- angelfish, butterfly fish, damsels, grouper, a moray eel, parroting, a trigger fish, and more. We dove down for brief moments to get closer to the animals. We saw a couple of rays near the bottom.

We went here (very early days of March) on two different days. It was super easy access, and we saw loads of beautiful fish, as well as a sea turtle on one of the days. Loved that when we finished, we could walk right up to a restaurant/bar ("Somewhere) for food and drinks. So fun and relaxing! Of note, my parents (turning 80 this year) wouldn't have been able to snorkel the reef by themselves, even though it's really calm, but we threw on life jackets and pulled them alongside of us and they loved it!! They kicked when they wanted and then floated the rest of the time. Something we'll never forget!

The National Park covers most of the famous beach area in Provo. Whiles upon miles of stunning sand and water, and with spots where you can snorkel from the beach, wheat else can you ask for? We also appreciated that we could find free public parking at various locations.

probably the best reefs in Turks, just about 200 yard from shore.
Clean beach, restroom and staff.
nice and clean walkway and easy to wash body and feet as you come up from the beach.

I was shocked by how amazing the snorkeling was so close to the beach. You only have to go 15 feet or so into the water before you start seeing astounding ocean life. Snapper, turtles, sharks, and brain coral were just some of the things we saw. We took a snorkeling tour to another part of the reef, and honestly the section near the Windsong Resort was better than anything else.

Lots of parking, few visitors, and remnants of a busier time can be found here. Perhaps when the islands' economy improves since the Covid pandemic, this will once again be teeming with beachgoers.

So pretty. Calm water. There were people there. But not crowds. Love it. This was my favorite spot on Provo.

There are a few locations for these parks and some have good snorkeling on nice beaches. We biked to some and walked to the ones on Grace Bay.

O Parque nacional compreende as regiões de Grace Bay, Bight Reef, Bight Beach, Smith's Reef, Leeward Beach - basicamente toda a região norte e noroeste da ilha, incluindo a região de vários pontos de mergulho. É uma região protegida e maravilhosa - ótimo local para snorkeling e mergulho de cilindro - tartarugas, peixes, lagostas e tubarões de recife.
O mar é paradisíaco e as praias ótimas para relaxar!

Would you be allowed to fish off the bank from this area or is that off limits? Heading on a trip there in a few months. If not, Where would I be able to fish from the bank. Thanks

There is no bank. The protected area iis accessed from the beach. Any fishing near this area is illegal. To fish in Provo you basically need to do it from a boat.
