Chegamos em Charlotte Amalie a bordo do Harmony of the Seas, mas notei que o navio ficou atracado no outro porto, um pouco mais distante da "Main Street" da capital. Este, ao contrário, fica situado bem próximo ao centrinho da cidade e pode ser visto de vários ângulos, sendo que o melhor deles é a partir do alto dos morros ao seu redor.

I am not quite sure but I believe the cruise ships dock outside of the best visitor site. I did walk around the few shops near the boat but there really isn't much to see unless you take an excursion ( my LW did! ) I had been I'll prior to leaving home for the San Juan departure so cancelled my tours! I relaxed aboard the ship after my brief visit on shore. WEATHER WAS GREAT!

This is where the cruise ships come in to port and is also the location of Havensight Mall. Home to more than 150 duty free or boutique stores, the mall also provides numerous visitor services. Post office, drug store, bank, dentist, visitor information center, etc. Can get very crowded if there are several ships in port. Dock can hold up to 8 cruise ships! Worth a visit if you're in the area. Free parking which is hard to find in Charlotte Amalie.

We enjoy the free live jazz concert (every other third Tuesday) at the West Indian Dock while staying on St. Thomas. The performers are excellent. The food trucks along side the concert area sell good food and drink. A nice night out listening to jazz and watching the cruise ships leaving the dock.

If you have a rental car there are plenty of places to park but Crown Bay has limited parking, where largest cruise ships dock. Lots of little shops and good places to eat. Also just a short walk to the tram for a bird's eye view of the area. Price compare and try to bargain for prices. Best to know before you go.

while we where there only 4 ships were docked the maximum is 8ships in port ! very hectic taxi service is excellent plenty available , also close to downtown core so can be walked Paradise point is just a few steps away like shopping for those who want to shop !

This is the largest cruise terminal area on the island. Immediately off the docks is the Havensight Shopping mall along with ranks of cabs and tour guides.
Just a few blocks away is the cable car station that you can use to go to Paradise Point which overlooks the harbor area.

Either coming into the harbor by cruise ship, or travelling by car, the WI Dock is filled with lovely shops selling all sorts of stuff... souveniers, jewelry, etc. Also good for "comparison shopping" if you also go to Main Street in downtown, Charlotte Amalie

While there is another cruise ship dock, Crown Bay, chances are that if you arrive in St Thomas by cruise ship, you will arrive here. While the facilities are quite nice with shopping at Havensight Mall and the excellent views provided by the Paradise Point Tramway, you will probably want to explore the US Virgin Islands beyond the dock area.
Unless you are taking an excursion to St John, which is outstanding, you can save money by easily exploring St Thomas on your own by taking advantage of the many taxis that will up at the dock. If you like shopping and/or history, visit historic downtown Charlotte Amalie with the center of tourist activity about 1.5 miles (2.4k) away.
If spending a day at the beach is more your thing, take a taxi to Megans Bay, a huge excellent white sand beach with calm waters, Coki Beach with music, drinks and lots of services plus snorkeling, or Lindquist Beach, an amazingly beautiful white sand beach with more surf than the other two which, although changing, is less developed and my personal favorite; however, all three are exceptional. Returning to the ship is no issue as many taxis are on standby for a return at any time.
