We are a family of history buffs so a stop at Christ Church was a given. Beautiful church with an awe inspiring collection of stained glass. You can really chart the history of Nassau seeing the memorials inside the cathedral.

The oldest church in The Bahamas, part of the Anglican church. Visited by the Royal Family every time they come to The Bahamas.

After three Anglican churches built in wood (the first two destroyed by the Spanish), this new stone building replaced the third in 1754. It was proclaimed a cathedral in 1861, after several extensions and modifications.

Restaurata nel 1995 è una chiesa sobria ma che ha bellissime vetrate a piombo colorate che raffigurano la vita di cristo . La abbiamo raggiunta passeggiando lungo byside visto che è proprio a pochi passi . Qualche foto ricordo mi piace postarla.

Pop in and look around, especially if the sun is shining so that you can see the stained glass windows. Always interesting to see these types of churches.

Which tour did you take that started at the Cathedral? Did it include the Queen's Staircase? Those are the two sites we really want to see. Thank you!

Hi, We were in a hotel rather than off a cruise ship so we wandered around under our own steam. In terms of walking distance I would say the two places are probably just a bit more than a mile apart and a little bit of a climb as, apart from the obvious Queens Staircase itself, there is a hilly street to walk up to get there from pretty much anywhere in downtown Nassau.

Good evening, is there a cost to visit the church?
Also, how far is it from the port where the Celebrity Cruise line comes in. this is the very first time we have ever come to Nassau, or been on a cruise. Can we walk.
Third how far from your church to get to the Ardastra Conservatory. could we walk from the church?

No cost to visit. And it’s in the heart of downtown Nassau so yes, you should be able to walk. I don’t know how far it is to the conservatory.
