Took a taxi ($10 pp each way) from the cruise port. Took about 15 mins each way. Based on reviews as well as the taxi driver’s opinion, we avoided Junkanoo and went to Cable instead. He dropped us off by a stretch of beach where guys were renting beach chairs ($10) and umbrellas ($20) for the day. There was a restroom nearby that was a little iffy but usable. It also had a “shower” for rinsing the sand off your feet. There were a couple people set up with a folding table selling snacks and drinks but it seemed a little sketchy so we didn’t eat or drink anything while there. We saw others doing so though. The beach itself was very nice. White sand, clear water. There were a few “peddlers” selling souvenirs (including a little boy), but it wasn’t too overwhelming like I was warned about with Junkanoo. The nearby jetski/parasail/snorkeling guys were also by several times to try to get us to consider those things. We probably could have just walked further down the beach to stay further away from them but we didn’t. Overall we had a great day despite the weather (overcast and rain at times). The rain just added to the memory of the day! I would return to Cable beach if in Nassau again.

We took No. 10 bus from the bus stop across the street from Margaritaville. It cost us $1.25 each and dropped us off at the bus stop by the Sandals Hotel. From there, it was a 1-minute walk down to the beach. The beach is small but is really, really beautiful. White and clean sand. We didn’t see any fish snorkelling, but some people said they saw 3 stingrays earlier in the day.
There’s no washroom facilities. Beach chairs, umbrellas, life jackets are available for rent.

Beautiful beach but on this date you must take into account the fresh wind and intense waves. It is advisable to check the tide because the beach gets very narrow. The colors of the sea are like a dream.

Very beautiful beach, long and easily accessible by arriving by cruise, about 15 minutes by taxi. There are beach loungers, very expensive extra services, but then again we are in the Bahamas

Cable beach is not great compared to jaws beach and coral harbor beach. You can rent jet skis here and that makes it very unpleasant. It is also a bit dirtier than the other beaches.

Awesome!!!!!crystal clear water. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Paddle board kayak and snorkeling gear complimentary by the hotel

Excellent few hours at the Cable Beach!l We picked up a taxi from the main high street (Jewellery area) Our Campbell our taxi driver was friendly and informative. He took 5 of us to Cable Beach from $35.
On entering the beach we were approached for lounger hire. We got 2 beds and 1 umbrella for $30
The beach and sea were clean. This part of the beach was not crowded, we were near Breezes Hotel.
Our taxi driver picked us up at 3 o’clock to get back to the cruise ship.
We really enjoyed our day in Nassua

We are so glad we didn’t believe the negative reviews of this beach. We took a cab from the port for about $10/pp and got there in about 20 min. We were approached by some locals to get chairs and umbrellas. We rented two chairs and an umbrella for $40 for the entire day. My husband found a drink stand where he got three drinks in a cantelope for $30. The beach is clean and beautiful. The water is SO warm and clear. We saw some fish and overall had a very relaxing beach day. We loved the whole island and highly recommend getting off the ship to explore!

Goodmans bay is public just before baha mar can then walk beach in front of all hotels. Beach is public property to high water mark

If the wind is calm, floating on a pool float is AWESOME! We brought in inflatable pool float and used it everyday for relaxing and as a "base" for snorkeling. cheers

Hi! Is there Snorkeling off the shore at Cable Beach (where you don't have to take a boat to)? Are there any reefs fairly close to shore - or enough fish/sealife to see?
Also, is the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar close to this beach? It's listed as an area hotel. Thanks!!!

Yes, right off the Melia Property are two reefs - we saw many species of fish! The swim was easy enough when the water was calm from the beach,

We (a group of 8 people) are planning to go to Cable beach via #10 jitney bus. I know I could take the bus from a bus stop across from the straw market. How much is the fare and do they take US$ on the bus? Also as far as return, where is the bus stop located at Cable beach? Does Cable beach offer public restrooms? Is there a public access point at Cable beach and where? Thanks in advance for any reply.

$1.25/adult, $1/student one way. Where they drop off there are public bathrooms, foot shower. To return take the bus on the other side of the road from where you were dropped off. Ask the driver. They’re all so friendly! Enjoy!
