Lovely art museum about a 10 min walk from the Nassau cruise ship dock. Had impressive pieces in all different art mediums. The building itself had a cool design and you can tell it’s a nice event space venue too. I loved it and will be back again next year to check out the new exhibition.

Chock so full of art such that very little wall space remains! Loved how modern works are juxtaposed next to historic postcards of the same venues. Very cool way to present history and art at the same time! Especially enjoyed the complimentary art park atop the hill with views of the harbor & free WiFi. Such a quiet & beautiful setting.

I was not expecting a lot at the art museum for a small Caribbean nation that has only been independent for 50 years. But the colorful pieces here certainly evoke a Bahaman style. Most of the art has a victim and oppression theme, which is also fitting for a country that is both entirely dependent on yet loathes the tourists and the national subservience to tourist interests. While the Museum itself isn’t that big, they fill the walls with the art, though photos aren’t allowed. There is also a sculpture garden, but there are only a few, very abstract pieces here. It’s a one hour museum on the whole.

Last visited the National Gallery in April 2022, and I was happy to see it looking much better this time. The National exhibition is superb. The Sam Taylor pieces are especially impressive.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this! Loved the Antonius Robertson collection a lot. The only disappointment was we wanted to buy a postcard or momento of his work from the shop and there was nothing there. A shame to not be allowed to take pictures as would loved to have showed people the amazing things we saw.

I strongly encourage folks to take the time to visit this well curated space! We went during the Antonius Roberts exhibition, and seeing this incredible multi-media art from paintings, to sculpture to interactive art installations was an absolute treasured experience of my visit to Nassau. The person working at the museum was informative, friendly and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and taking a walk through the arts garden, was such a delight - with art pieces integrated into a beautiful outdoor walking and sitting space. The small, but well curated, gift shop is a lovely place to browse for unique, local finds. I would definitely return for future exhibits, should I be in Nassau!

Visited this art museum as part of the Pedicab tour. LOVED the museum. Beautifully curated exhibit in an old restored mansion. Well worth the visit. I highly recommended it.

This is a gem of a museum. The building and grounds are lovely, with sculptures and wall art in the gardens. Inside, the museum features local artists and works that are well worth the low admission price. Good for a couple of hours out of the sun.

What is the best way to get here from the Cruise port? Can you walk?

I've walked there each time I've been at port. It is uphill so it's a little strenuous but walking up the street is an adventure in itself. It is also within walking distance of Graycliff Chocolate Factory and Watling's Rum Distillery. Both fun attractions that you can visit without reservations or pre-planned tours.
