Relaxing day's fishing

A godsend during lockdown and have now joined HAPS as it's rekindled my love of fishing. The lake has been re-stocked and a blank day March-Oct is very rare.

Came here just before the mens singles final,to walk off our breakfast at Gamberinis.Its always nice and tranquill(unlike Trent Park!)

Its so close to home which is nice!

A pretty lake but are there fish?

A small pretty shallow water. Day tickets available only for part of the lake. Restricted street parking nearby. Rumour has it that there has been a lot of poaching so reducing the fish stocks. I was after pike but blanked. After recent heavy rains the water was the colour of bovril. Still, a nice day out.

Found that this lake has been hit by people taking all the fish home. It used to be good for a 5 minute from my house. Used to have many fish out now with my own eyes have seen lines with meat hooks put out no regular night patrols and also limited day patrols. There was a fishing today and out of 30 people 1 carp came out of 5lb and only 3 roach. The people have a gang and goes and checks if the coast is clear and baliff leaves lake they call other people who arrive later who also put lines out and take fish home. I will not be renewing my membership nor will my friends as DRASTIC ACTION NEEDED.

Looking for a quiet place

There is no proper entrance and actually ended up at the gates of a private school. No parking anywhere. Drive around the whole lot but no sign at all either. No place for a disabled person

An oasis in a busy city

We were able to forget for a couple of hours that we were in busy and noisy London. Great walking through Hadley Woods. Jacks Lake is tranquil and delightful watching the water birds and the water lilies. Highly recommend for walks and great place to take children.

Peaceful Oasis

The walk through Hadley Wood to Jacks Lake is a wonderful way to spend a few hours especially if you stray off of the main tracks. You can see something different every time.

A lovely lake to fish, tranquil and serene. Had a few fish out Bream, roach and carp. The baliff wanders round and is very informative.

Lovely Place

Jack's Lake and the surrounding woods is a really nice place to spend some time wondering around.

Watch the fisherman for a while and then wonder through to woods either to Barnet or Cocfosters.

A very pleasant couple of hours.

This place is near to Cockfosters tube station if you come by underground . Jacks lake is a lovely peaceful lake in Hadley woods which has fish in it. An ideal place for a picnic and kids with families. You can walk from Cockfosters to Hadley in Barnet one end to the other.
