Lovely walk in the Autumn sunshine. Lots of interesting things to look at and different pathways to explore. Was busy (school holidays?) but was sunny and relaxing. Why not 5? Some helpful dog owner allowed their dog to deposit which we stepped in.

Lovely walk around with friends, the round trip around the dam is an easily accessible route. Parking is available if you get there early enough.

We had a nice walk around the dam even though it was a rainy day. Very pretty walk through the woods and the trail was fairly easy to follow. Several people with dogs and children, so very approachable walk

Lymm is a very old village which has numerous attractions and walks. There's the bridge water canal with its narrow boats and lymm dam with walks around its lake. Lots of restaurants to choose from so a great day out.

I frequent Lymm Dam often as I am an angler. The fishing pegs / stands are in a reasonable condition, but could do with updating, or at least maintaining a little better. The dam itself is well stocked with several species of fish. Not sure how many pegs there are around the dam, but I know it's a fair amount. If you're considering going fishing at the dam, it's advisable to get there early if you want a well located peg. I can highly recommend Lymm Dam if you are an angler, as it is one of only a few places in and around Warrington that still does day ticket fishing (that I know of!)

Easy walk and great place for day out with family and couple!
You will see some wild ducks and swans near the dam. And many people go there with their dog.

great for a pleasant walk any season of the year and only a short walk from pubs and eateries in the quaint old village of Lymm would recommend

A great place to go for a picnic in the warmer months, great place for a walk or bike ride, sometimes grab food from Lymm village and head up to the dam.

How accessible is this place for someone in a wheelchair (has fairly big wheels and is pushed by a family member, we manage ok on things like cobblestones) thanks

If you stick to the main pathway you’ll be fine ,a little dirty at parts when we have had weather like we have over the past few weeks but it’s a good solid path all the way round, there is one part though with two steps.

There is some parking directly in front of the dam, but if that is full drive past the dam, with the dam on your right side & take the first right turn past the pub. There is a car park just on your right.

Not really it is quite rough under foot in places and hilly in others. It would be possible if you are able to go down a few stairs there is a few benches at the beginning of the dam. Which is still nice to do on a nice day.

It’s a steady circular walk that’s just a few kilometres if you only walk around the lake that’s by the dam, with no big climbs or inclines. You can extend the walk through the beautiful town at the end and then extend it again with a canal side walk if you want more. It’s a really easy, steady walk, for anyone that is steady on their feet, with several options for making it longer and stopping for refreshments too. There’s also free parking and benches and areas where you could enjoy a picnic should you wish. It’s a really beautiful area that we enjoy regularly.

Random question- I remember the sandstone rocks as a child... But couldn't find them yesterday. Which path are they on?

If you park in the small car park next to the community club house behind the pub , follow the path towards the lake. Top path I think has the most sandstone but as the lake & dam were carved out of sandstone it's visible all the way around . The bottom path has a small passage carved into which I presume was done for the workmen to shelter in .
