After walking up and down the street, my traveling companion went into this store that had all kinds of pottery/ceramics in the windows. She went in and I came in a few minutes later. She was looking for her Turquoise ring. I had been to Mexico City the year before and fell in love with the wonderfully painted ceramics there, but they never fail to amuse and amaze me whenever I see them. I looked at the wall of ceramics and then the owner/manager came over and began to explain the items to me and where they are made. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining the minute detail of the item that I was interested in. Very charming man who also shared with me about the sterling silver in his shop. In front of the shop there is a glass show case filled with items that are “real” sterling silver, silver with nickel and fake silver. He also stated that some shops will stamp the fake with the #925 and tell people it is real when it is not. We talked further about the area and I mentioned that I did not see very many tourists out and about and he said it is because people are afraid to some because of what they have seen or read on T.V. and we both agreed it is that way most places. I then picked out my little saucer and he wrapped it very carefully for me to take home with me.
