My last visit here was +25 years ago and I was amazed again. It was my wife's first visit, and she was amazed too! You'll be hard pressed to find a cave with more columns. The "new" cable car might not be as much fun as the original inclined rail but it's certainly faster. If you're doing a daily travel route through Central Mexico and cross the border early enough you should consider stopping here. Added 2 hours to our drive from the US border to matehuala.

A must stop in Monterrey!
The cable car is under maintenance (situation that is announced multiple times in different sources for the knowledge of those who are interested in going) and the climb can be somewhat tired if your physical condition is poor 😅
HOWEVER once you enter the grotto it's WORTH 1,000%
It is amazing the surprises and beauty that nature gives us if we have the patience to get to the place.
My Recommendation is a couple of good tennis, lots of water, a cap and lots of pictures!!!

We reach the caves for NOTHING, as the cable car does NOT work. What little way... waste of time and money, as it is spent on gasoline and booths and not being able to climb... if it gives a lot of courage!!!

The caves are beautiful, we went up on foot, it took 1 hour to walk, please bring a hat or umbrella, the sun is strong and they do not sell drinks on the way, nor do they buy at the top before going up. It is very rewarding to reach the top and enter the caves. It takes almost 45 minutes longer and the weather inside is cold.

A nice trip for us. We were a little apprehensive about the climb, as it is very steep from below and in the sun it looks quite challenging. Overall, however, it was doable - if you have ever hiked in the mountains anywhere in the world!
The cave itself can only be entered with a guide. The guide is included in the entrance fee and leads groups along the tour through the large cave. The size of the cave and its location at the top of the mountain make this place particularly worth visiting.

It is an incredible place without a doubt. If you like hiking or climbing "hills" it is a very pleasant experience. The walking distance is 1.5 (30-45 minutes) with a difficulty from beginner to intermediate. Suggestions: bring water because there is no way to get up. Once inside the caves it is incredible to see the magic of nature.

It's not worth it at all!
The cable car DOES NOT WORK!
You have to climb the entire mountain ON FOOT! And when you get to the caves you are already tired and frustrated, so by that time it is nothing surprising or different from the photos you see on Google.
Oh and to make it even better.
You have to go back the way you came ON FOOT again.
When you are a tourist you want to go visit and have fun, not everyone wants to go climb a mountain to see more stones at the end.
And to top it off there are no buses to get there, you have to take a Taxi or Uber and it is super far from everything.
The round trip transportation costs more than the supposed tour of the caves.
If you enjoy climbing mountains this is for you, if not, you're going to hate it just like me.

It is a wonderful sight, the only problem was getting there on foot since the cable car is broken. As a tourist attraction it is a “must” but it is limiting for people with health conditions or who are very old.

No hay restricciones pero el recorrido es 1 km de escalones de subida y bajada y con la humedad algunos escalones están resbalosos.
