Excellent place if you don’t want to spend the truth is that we were charged 40 pesos and back you get Super economical and also you can be all day or for as long as you want on the island of the stone this did not recommend it because if you take a Tour you are exposed to the schedules of them in changes if you arrive on your own you can stay and you can also eat where you want

I usually visit stone island in december when I go on vacation to Mazatlan.
It is a very beautiful place that makes me feel incredibly happy and calm, although it also makes me nervous to cross the sea.
Their food is very tasty and fortunately, they sell other foods besides seafood, it is a very pleasant and comfortable environment.
It is a place that I really like a lot, but I would not recommend it to people who are afraid of the sea, unless they arrive by land.

Place to visit in Mazatlan. Island located at the end of town, yield a good option to visit, good restaurants, tours and walks at affordable prices. It has everything you need to have a great day. Motorbike, catamaran, motorcycle and parachute rides.

TERRIBLE BEWARE OF SCAMS! The promoter named Oscar Munoz sold us a "package" that included transport to the dock, open bar, a boat ride to Stone Island and 2 activities per person. We were scammed and didn't get the activities. The food was awful and the beach was a dump. Wasted money and time!!!

The place is nice, there are a variety of restaurants, we went on a tour, the truth was good, the rich food, unlimited drinks, what was not so good is that they limit your time on the beach and apart they take you late which takes time that you do not recover and the price if it is something high

The tours are a fraud, especially on the island, the food they offer is deplorable, there is no attention from the waiters, there are no sauces, napkins, etc. They serve the food cold and reluctantly. The attention of the staff is terrible. It's not worth what you pay (500).

We read about Stone Island on another review and took our family, and LOVED it! We went from a cruise ship that ported in Mazatlan and simply walked there. We exited the marina area, turned left and walked down the street a few blocks until we hit an intersection, crossed the street and walked straight along the gravel road until we found a small ferry and went over. I believe it cost $3 per person round trip. There was someone there waiting for tourists to try and talk us into sitting in his chairs, but we went a bit further to El Velero restaurant, sat in some lounge chairs on the beach for free, ordered some drinks, and had a great time. The kids played in the sand and ocean while we ate fresh cannolis. There was also a message therapist/chiropractor named Sonia outside Estebin restaurant (just prior to El Velero) who was great! This beach was our favorite stop of all the ports. We enjoyed this way more than touring Mazatlan itself with an overpriced tour.

We picked this bean from aa review on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint. A short 10-15 min walk from cruise terminal to water taxi, $3 pp round trip (they collect tickets on the return trip), so many restaurants to choose from and we just got some drinks and nacho and no charge for the chairs. Beach are was so wide, tons of room. Plenty of people just laid in the sand. There are several vendor that try and sell their goods, but not too pushy. Great relaxing day

Love this piece of Mazatlan- actually an Isla across from the harbour of Mazatlan.
If on a cruise ship you simply step outside the terminal gate and turn left.
Walk about three blocks and down a gravel road to the Embarcadero.
Pay 3.00 and get a “returno” ticket , walk down the wharf and onto a “Panga”
which will whisk you across to the Isla in about five minutes.
Once on the Isla simply cross the road and walk down onto the beautiful beach that runs for miles.
There are a number of beach style eat/ drink establishments along the way.
Highly recommend El Velero for very good food off a wide variety of menu offerings.
Same for drinks. You can eat at your lounge chair under your umbrella or at the restaurant.
Your choice, great service and pricing and they do not charge for beach chairs , unlike some other venues.
We had a great day and have agreed to return in the future to bask in the sun once more.

I'm considering the Princess tour to Stone Island. Trip details free lunch buffet and open bar. Are drinks from the open bar included? Can you snorkel at this beach? And is equipment provided? Leaving for cruise in 1 week.

Don’t pay for a ship tour you can just go on your own. You can walk easily from the terminal to the panga boat. There is no snorkeling I wouldn’t think. Food is cheap, drinks are cheap.

Hi Carolyn. The waters are calm enough for paddle boarding but I didn’t see anyone doing so. It just might mean there was no place to rent such a thing. I have a friend who is staying in an RV park there for the winter. I’ll ask her and get back to you.

I would suggest you do it on your own and save some$. Round trip on boat is $2. All of the restaurants will offer you seats and umbrellas at either a minimum cost or free. Went to several restaurants and they were all good. You honestly can’t go wrong

I believe it was 35 pesos return. You pay only on the Mazatlán side. Keep your receipt to show for returning.

Stone Island is a beach so there are no specific hours but, of course, daytime would be best. The businesses on the peninsula/island beach open at approx 10 or 11 a.m. and generally close at night. Check on the ferry hours from mainland to Stone Island. It's a short 10 min ride from dock to dock.

There are some places along the beach you can rent. If you go on VRBO you may find them there. The only downside about
staying in this area is to get to the Golden Zone you will have to water taxi every time and then taxi or bus to get where your going. It just takes you a little longer to get somewhere and if you go out for the evening in Old Towne the water taxi doesn't run after 7:00 pm.

El Cid has Pronatours.
You can also take the fancy green bus 11 PESOS [52 cents] to the Ferry and take a water taxi across the marina/docks and you are there. Way cheaper. The tours just do one of the restaurants there and you only get one baby beer [less than a regular size] and then you have to pay for more libations. If this is helpful please mark as such.
