This conservation area right in the middle of Puerto Vallarta was an excellent excursion. The guides were very knowledgeable and the small group allowed everyone to see the crocodiles, crabs and birds as we rode down the river. Definitely recommend this as a wonderful non-commercialized outing. Great for all ages.

We booked to go on this conservational excursion from the Uk, everything ran smoothly and we were expected. We were the only 2 people on our booking, so it was great to have the full attention of the guide. Our guide Biol Abraham Meza was very knowledgable and spoke excellent English. The boat trip lasted about an hour and was spent looking at birds and wildlife amongst the plantation. Unfortuately we didnt see any crocodiles, which was disappointing, but nobodys fault. The experience is more about conservation rather than a standard animal trip, but this is what attracted us to this particular experience. We had a lovely time.

We have a six year old son who is very interested in bugs, birds, reptiles and everything "science." This was a relaxing, delightful little tour through the mangroves showing the difference between the mangrove varieties, all the wildlife that inhabits the area and we even got to hold a baby croc! We went with my 70 year old parents and they too really loved the tour. We stayed in PV a week and when we asked our son what his favorite part of the entire trip was, he said THIS tour was it. Please know that he listens to direction well - it is a "listening and viewing" tour so kiddos that are challenged with attention may not appreciate it. If you have science loving older children, DO TAKE THEM! I also loved that the price of admission goes directly toward preserving this wild area.

I strongly encourage people to visit natural ecosystems rather than zoo's. Maybe animals can't be seen as easily here as in zoo's but at least you know they are living freely in the way they should live. You might find tons of different wild birds, crabs, racoons or even crocodiles. The tour is guided and with the fee you pay, you're ensuring this mangroove stays protected as the government doesn't really care much about its protection.

We booked our tour online and paid when we arrived. Cost was $300 pesos each for visitors and only $100 pesos each for locals. The tour lasted around 1 1/2 hours and included a boat ride, knowledgeable guide and a visit to an observation tower as well as baby cocodrillo habitat. We expected to see huge crocodiles and were surprised that most of the crocodiles were a meter or so in length. We did happen to see a huge one at the edge of the reserve near the fence, as well as one in the marina. A pleasant visit worth a visit, you’ll be supporting a worthy cause.

The tour through Estero El Salado is interesting and exciting. Touring through the mangroves on a boat with guides to explain the ecosystem and the challenges it faces was terrific. What an amazing place so close to the hotel zone where you can see so many different species of birds, reptiles & plants was great. i would recommend this tour to everyone.

We had so much fun here and it was a highlight of our trip with our 2 year old. He loved to see the birds and the crocodiles! He was a little afraid to pet the 1 year old crocodile but loved to watch them swim around and watch me pet it. We really hope this place sticks around and not get torn down for more development. It was totally worth the money and the hour or so we spent there!
