Must be careful around these parts especially if your Spanish is limited. Great shopping, food and neighborhood park.

fabulous place to visit, it is known locally at the sail and make sure you visit twice as during the day you can watch fishermen landing their catch, and in the evening the sail lights up and changes colour. Its located in downtown and is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. The pier is also the base for water taxis to Yelapa and at $21 us return it is bar far the cheapest way to get there. Perfect place to people and boat watch as well as seeing the pelicans flying around.

The pier offers great views north and south. I was disappointed this trip to see they didn't have rotating colors on the staff like before. Only the bottom had rotating colors. We had a "burial" at sea off the pier for a friend who died unexpectedly of a heart attack.

It was interesting to see all the boats coming and going. If you are there very early you can watch them fishing off the end of the pier. At night time it lights up

O calçadão e as zonas histórica e romântica de Puerto Vallarta são cheias de monumentos, cores e arte, sendo esta torre do pier mais um deles.
Pra mim, nada de especial, como a praia dos Mortos onde ele fica.

Von hier aus blickt man über die Strände und die Wasserseite der Stadt. Dieser Abschnitt ist sicher die touristischste. Dennoch ist man ein wenig an die Riviera erinnert.

Pier which is located at Playa los Muertos along the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta
The main feature of the Peir is the large metal structure, known as the Sail, which is towards the end of the Pier. It is constructed with metal and wire mesh, which curl around the main mast giving the appearance of a sail.
A footbridge, pier, with embedded designs, leads out to the sail and the small jetty at the end. The walkway circles the sail so visitors can walk around it.
From the jetty there were a number of fishermen fishing. Small boats bobbed on the sea as they wanted to transport tourists to Las Animas, Quimixto, Mismaloya and Yelapa.
It was fascinating to stand here and watch the numerous pelicans diving for fish, others chose to sit and dry off in the sunshine.
There were views along the two sides of Playa los Muertos which the pier cuts across out into the sea.

One of the most beautiful landmarks in Puerto Vallarta, this is a must go place. The view from the pier is absolutely amazing both day time and night.

Last August it was about 40 pesos. If it is off season you can negotiate or go early . Take Mexican Pesos NOT American dollars, then they have to pay to exchange them....

It depends on the time of year, how busy they are, how desperate you are and how many people you have in a group. If they're slow and you have a large group, you might see it as low as 80P / person. Just you on a weekend in the busy season......could be upwards of 250P.
As the other person mentioned above, always negotiate. And if you're well dressed, expect a higher price. These folks are understandably trying to make as much money as they possibly can. Also, tipping goes farther than it seems on the surface. Recently my girlfriend lost her phone in a taxi. I'm pretty sure the real reason it was returned was because we tipped well....

In Oct. last year it was U$20 to Yelapa, this 2x the distance. The small boat takes about 12 people. It is cramped and can be very bumpy. So if you have a weak stomach - not advisable. Please see our movies on Puerto (and others too) on youtube at studioabmusica. Thanks. Good luck!

Not sure, Did not see anyone fishing. We were there daily, but perhaps at wrong time of the day. Pls see our Puerto movies on youtube under "studioabmusica". Thx. Good luck with fishing!

The above all are correct. The beautiful views and people watching are available without an appointment. Water taxis depart there. We've also caught the boat to the dolphin swim from there. Great place to watch fireworks on NYE but get there EARLY.
