My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Emilio and his team for this cooking class. We learned so much about local culture, daily living, cooking Mexican food and made so many new friends. Emilio and his team are so nice and we can’t ask for more!

I booked Casa Jacaranda for a company team building event, and we had the most AMAZING time - from the beautiful venue, to the delightful host (Chef Emilio) and staff, to the immersive cooking, and to eating the most delicious food that we created together. This was definitely the highlight of our trip! I will fondly look back on this experience, and hope to come back soon!

I took a group cooking class back in March with Beto, Emilio, & Carlos. They were wonderful teachers & we made a ton of delicious food (so come very hungry). They were also hilarious & entertaining. If you’re going to Mexico City, this is a must do! What a wonderful experience!

This was my second class with Casa Jacaranda and I LOVED my experience! From the market tour, the knowledge shared surrounding the indigenous history of Mexico’s cuisine and the hospitality of Emilio and his staff, this is a must do every trip to CDMX! The food is incredible and we love being able to meet new people each class. Highly recommend to all my friends when visiting Mexico City.

Our day with Casa Jacaranda was a top hilight of our week in CDMX! Adults and teens were mesmerized by Emelio's passion for and deep knowledge about Mexican food, culture and people! The spaces for preparing and eating were magical and the food was outstanding. We appreciated that the menu took our dietary quirks into consideration so that we could all enjoy!

My family and I had the most wonderful day with Emilio and his friendly and helpful team. We started at a nice coffee shop and proceeded to the marketplace where Emilio interacted with his community of vendors and provided such interesting info and insights! Especially on Chile peppers and herbs, but so much more. In fact, with Emilio as our guide, we stopped at multiple places, including a fantastic chocolate shop and a small (and very warm) tortilla shop. These are places I don't think we would not have found on our own as tourists. The entire day was very informal, friendly and comfortable. Emilio answered all our questions and was an outstanding guide into the varied history of Mexican cooking culture. Back at the truly beautiful Casa Jacaranda kitchen the afternoon was filled with some intense hands-on cooking, along with a few cocktails for inspiration. Emilio was very adaptive to my family's food preferences. We made tamales and a fantastic mole with pineapple, apple, and plantains added. All the recipes of the food cooked, and more, were provided to us. We plan to re-create some of the cooking magic back at home. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It will be a day that we all will cherish the memory of. With Emilio's outgoing personality and, his super-helpful sous chef Charly, it was not unlike spending the day with some friends that have a common interest in cooking and culture.

My two foodie kids (ages 20 and 28) took this class with me today, and I am speechless (or perhaps just too full) at how wonderful it was. We started with a thorough market tour with tastings and tons of information, then moved on to an exquisite catering/teaching kitchen. With a lovely, similarly food obsessed group of 7, we spent an afternoon creating tamales, salsas, moles, tortillas and sopes, all while learning about the specific ingredients and cooking techniques involved. We then sat down to a gorgeous feast in a beautifully appointed dining room, complete with jasmine tea margaritas, wines and ending with a fabulous assortment of tequilas and mezcals. Dessert was an astonishing vegan chocolate chili sorbet on puffed amaranth and colored wafer flakes. The staff was equally superb, constantly cleaning and clearing and creating additional dishes behind the scenes to enhance the experience. I would return to Mexico City for one day just for this class!

Amazing experience. Highly recommended. The market tour is fun and educational. But the real magic starts when you get to the kitchen...

I loved this cooking class! We ate great street food, visited a market, learned about Mexican culture, and then cooked and had an excellent meal together. I've gone to cooking classes when traveling in the past, but this experience was really special!

Hello folks:
Is the Casa within walking distance of the Fiesta Americana hotel on Paseo Reforma? And, the dress code if there is one would be most helpful. We are booked for 2/27 and look forward to the experience. I thank you sincerely. sbcSoTX

Hello! Walking from the Fieata Americana Reforma would take you something like 45 minutes. It's a 3.2 km walk. I would recommend you arrive via Uber and then you could walk back to the hotel in the afternoon? There's no actual dress code, but comfy shoes and clothes are recommended.
See you soon!

I would love to book this for my daughter and I. Do you have vegetarian options for my daughter? How do I book?

Yes, there are many veggie options within the Mexican cuisine universe! Just make sure that you mention it when you book —you can do that when the booking system form asks for allergies or dietary restrictions. You can also contact jorge@casajacaranda.mx and we can tailor something special!
