Very nice place to swim with dolphins and manatees. We did the manatee swim which came with all inclusive food and drinks. The alcohol drinks were unlimited and made for a fun afternoon hanging out at the beach area and pool area. We enjoyed our manatee and dolphin swim and did some snorkeling. The park is very nice with hammocks and swings and bar areas. Lots of pretty areas to explore. Kids can get henna tattoos and ladies can get hair braided too. The photos of the swims are very expensive, that was the only downside. Taxi is about $5 per person and is easy to get back and forth to cruise ship. Would recommend when in Cozumel!

If there's a north wind blowing in there will be so much trash in the water, it's like would you like some ocean with your trash today. Your only snorkel option is to swim through the garbage. The fish attempt to eat some of the plastic. Lord knows how the dolphins surive.
We came for the day so my kid could swim with dolphins. We have to pay entry just to watch him, and it's expensive. Then after you pay you are constantly and I mean constantly harassed by ppl try to sell you drinks, chochkies, and other random things. The drinks are double the cost than what's outside. Also, they close early at 4pm.
This place is not as great as it once was, in fact it's 10x worse.

Didn’t enjoy arriving to the park and finding a disorganized reception and then being charged a marine fee, additional cost to the already higher price of sale online $49 vs $27 at the door.
The snorkeling experience is wonderful though.
Park and installations need some attention.
I recommend going to Chankanaab but avoid buying the tickets online, get up early and buy entrances at the door.

Snorkeling area was good, You can get close enough to the dolphin pens to see them swimming underwater. Didn’t appear to have a real beach though.

Purchased the swim with dolphins, manatees and seal show along with lunch and thoroughly enjoyed most of the excursion. Scheduling conflicts prevented us from seeing the seals but thoroughly enjoyed the dolphin experience. Lunch was ho hum but filling and needed since we arrived at 11:30AM and didn't finish until 3:30PM. Would definitely recommend but would better allocate times to fit all 3 shows in as we paid for all 3!

We only really went there for the manatee experience, which was absolutely superb, and worth every penny. We'd booked for the 2pm, but we got there early and we were asked if we wanted an earlier one at 12.15 - which doesn't seem to be advertised anywhere. Of course we said yes. The Dolphin Discovery part of the complex aside (which includes the manatees and is privately owned I guess) the park needs serious investment. The changing rooms and locker area is very run down, with holes in the ceiling and many lockers broken. Easy to get taxi back to the ship. USD15 (we gave a USD5 tip as the drivers are good). Very well organised by the people there.

We did the Dolphin Swim at Dolphin Discovery inside this park. That was 5 stars- SO cool! My 4 kids loved it! It included entrance into Chakanaab so after the Dolphin Swim, we walked around the very peaceful trail, and went snorkeling off shore. The snorkeling was great! Every where you look- fish! The water was very clear. My sons also caught several snails. The free buffet was very minimal and nothing to write home about but hey- free food. We also ended up ordering chicken quesadillas from the restaurant near the snorkeling spot. They were SO good! So bring money for better food options.
OH- the Sea Lion show was GREAT! So funny and entertaining! Made us laugh alot. Although, The announcer spoke mostly in Spanish so you dont get much info if youre English speaking...
Personally, I would never pay to just spend the day at Chakanaab- it was a bit run down (they were working on alot of things) and the buffet sucks. BUT, its a nice little add on if you are going there for the Dolphin Encounter anway.
TIP: Bring cash for the taxis! Many of them do not take CC

I love Cozumel. have been many many times and love Chankanaab State Park, my favorite place…but this last time had really bad experience.
Arrived there alone and knew where i wanted to go so i headed to chairs and umbrellas near a good snorkel spot in front of lagoon. Was seated by waitress named Abby. She gave me a menu and I looked at it and ordered a coke. She came by a few times to check on me and i told her i would order food after massage. Got massage, sat down and looked at menu and she had switched menus to where everything was double the price. When she arrived I asked her about it and she said sorry that is for large orders and gave me the original one back. I ordered and she brought my food…but something just didn’t feel right. i told her i wanted to close out my bill. She told me it was $36 which was twice the amount it should be. i asked her to show me how she came to that amount.
She added it in front of me and it came to $24, I agreed and gave her money plus big tip, but the more i thought about her trying to jip me twice the madder i got. I was told by nearby staff that Linda’s Snack Bar was independent of the rest there. I went to complain that Abby was crooked and they seemed like they didn’t care. I was not looking for compensation just wanted them to know how she works…
Stay away from Linda’s Snack Bar!

This was our fifth trip to Chankanaab, and it will definitely be our last. The place has changed, and not for the better. Snorkeling is still enjoyable, but everything else has gone downhill. A major ownership shift has left visitors paying much more for much less. Maintenance is lacking, and the pandemic seems to have led to relentless upselling efforts from the locals. Unfortunately, the entire Cozumel experience now feels like an organized attempt to take advantage of tourists. It's disappointing, and we won’t be returning.

I am 85 and have a hard time walking especially on sand. I will ne on excursion from allure of the sea.with my granddaughter who will want to be in the ocean. Will there be loungers with parasol that will be convenient for me to watch her?
