We enjoyed our day with Antonio in our island of Ixtapa day tour. It’s great to be picked up and driven and when you get there, everything is taken care of. They watch your belongings so you don’t have to worry about them when you are swimming or snorkeling. Two things could use improvement though, the AC in the van could be much cooler, especially on the way home after a day in the sun. The next is the lunch. The fish was over cooked and therefore dry. We heard after we could have ordered off the menu and paid the difference. We probably would have done that if we had known. We heard from a friend that was there at the same time, that the coconut shrimp were excellent.

An hour drive from Xtapa but our guide made the time pass with interesting facts about the country. The experience felt authentic and both kids and adults had fun releasing the turtles into the ocean. Such a beautiful stretch of beach all to ourselves.

The guide was so knowledgeable, accommodating, and enthusiastic. I could not have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend.

Our family had an amazing experience with Luiz. As seasoned travellers, we usually skip tours due to crowds and boredom, but this was different. Luiz was very professional and friendly and full of fascinating insights during our 45-minute drive to the remote beach for the sea turtle rescue. He answered all our questions about the local area and had excellent English. As an added bonus, his van was like new and well air-conditioned.
The turtle experience was delightful. We rode as passengers on quad bikes for the last stretch to a stunning, secluded beach we wouldn’t have found on our own. We got to pick up baby turtles from a shaded shelter and release them one by one into the water, protecting them on the most dangerous stretch of their journey along the way. It was truly unforgettable!

It was such an incredible day! We loved that one beach was for swimming and the other for snorkeling. The staff on the island were so sweet. Antonio, our tour guide was so informative and fun.

Fantastic and magical experience for everyone! Appreciated that Luis took us to a remote farm on a deserted beach rather than the touristy option. Helping support independent farmers is a big plus! Thanks again Luis.

This was one of the best experiences of my life. We got to go to a local co serrations site where they protect mama turtles coming to lay eggs, the relocate and protect the eggs from predators and when they hatch, they release them into the ocean. The guide was very knowledgeable about the whole area. He took the time to educate us about Mexico and the Zihuatanejo area. He even bought us a Mexican sweet treat to share for the rest of our vacation here. It has been amazing! I highly recommend this one in a lifetime experience as a must do activity whenever you visit Zihuatanejo.

So amazing, Luis was very informative and right on time for pick up. Very comfortable Hi-Ace van. On the drive out to the turtles we learned about the towns we were driving through and the culture. Luis stopped for a bathroom break before we went to the beach. A lesson for the turtles and then we were able to gather the little guys up and release them (SO FUN) - Then Luis stopped by a little store to buy coconut candy that was very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience we will never forget. Francisco arrived at our hotel right on time! He took my partner and I to the archeology site and museum, explaining everything. Any questions we had, he knew the answer to. We stopped at a coconut plantation on our way to lunch and the friendly workers gave us fresh coconuts to eat and drink from. We then we to the Las Palmas restaurant in the little village of 400 people. THE BEST food we had on the trip, homemade tortillas, organic food from their farm. Homemade cheese was mouthwatering. I highly recommend this trip! Francisco was a wealth of knowledge and knew about the flora and fauna in the area. Learned a lot and really got a chance to see the culture and environment out of the tourist area!.

Hi Mrs. Donna,
One of the tours that does not require significant physical effort is the City and Country Side Tour.
The following is the description of the tour:
After I pick you up at the Lobby of your hotel, I drive you to through the back of Ixtapa to show you the middle class neighborhoods where the locals lives, we drive by the catholic church in Ixtapa, then we go up to a lookout point where you can take a great picture of the Bay.
We go to Zihuatanejo and visit the low class neighborhoods, we visit the farmers market where the locals go shopping, and drive through the down town area where the town square is.
Then we drive out in the country and stop at a tropical fruits plantation where there are different types of tropical fruits such as: papayas, mangos, noni, tamarindos, bananas and coconut trees, I will explain you the different harvesting seasons for the all the different tropical fruits that we grow in the area.
Then we go to a very small community where all the people that live there work with clay, you will see how they manufacture by hand: tiles, bricks and decoration items.
We will also go to a beautiful lagoon surround it by mangrove trees, in there we will take a boat ride in the lagoon, we will get to see lots of lagoon birds (cormorans, egrets, storks, pelicans, roseate spoonbill, frigatebird, etc.)
Then we will go to a fishing village where we have lunch, do you remember the movie name Shawshank Redemption with Morgan freeman ??? the end of the movie was film on the beach where we will have lunch.
The lunch will be served at a nice beach side restaurant where there is always a nice ocean breeze. For Lunch you can get one of the following choices:
Chicken on the grill or breaded or chicken fajitas.
Fish on the grill or breaded or on garlic sauce.
Shrimp on garlic sauce or breaded.
All of the dishes come with guacamole & chips, a sope, we also serve you handmade tortillas, beans and salsa. It comes with a beer or soft drink.
On this tour the time goes by very fast, I give you a lot of good information about the culture in this part of Mexico, good transportation, and a great lunch, with fresh handmade tortillas!!!
The restaurant where we eat our lunch is located right next to the place where the lagoon empties into the ocean, so the scenery is very beautiful.
The price for this tour is 69 U.S. dollars per person including: Transportation, excellent tour guide service, lunch and boat ride in the lagoon “Better Value”.
This tour will last approximately 5 hours. The Departure for this tour can be at 9:00 A.M.
The tour includes: Round trip hotel transport, 30 minutes boar ride in the lagoon, lunch and tour guide service.

you can book directly through trip advisor with Luis but you have to search Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Tours by Luis De La Maza-Tours. He has at least 8 different tours he does. He is such a nice guy and very informative
