Its a 45mins hike before you get into the lake but its worth it. The trail is muddy so you need to wear a good slippers or hiking shoes.

If you're up for an adventure, you may try Lake Bababu, it is a 30 minute hike from its beaches and the road going to the lake is very steep and rocky. Might as well prepare your trekking shoes than wearing slippers.
The lake is said to be ‘meromictic’ which means that it has both freshwater and seawater and these two layers of water do not mix. Located at Barangay Melgar, Dinagat Islands and is 45 minute boat ride away from San Jose

You will really have a hard tume climbing those big rocks. Would be a great experience for adventure lovers. But all those hard walks are worthy once you see and feel the waters of the lake. So beautiful.

This is one of the gems of Dinagat. It took us about 45 minutes to hike from the beach to the lake. We had a swim in the lake which was really refreshing. There were no other visitors. It is really pristine place and well worth the hike up. The hike is not for everyone and you need good shoes. Highly recommended if you like unspoilt nature and quietness. Peter Langit discovered this lake after World War Two. He passed away in 1995 and was buried right off Bababu Beach. His family looks after the lake and its surroundings. Highly recommended. The title of these reviews suggests that there is a cave system. I didn't find any. For me the lake was enough...

this destination is pretty awesome, the lake is situated at the heart of a forested mountain near the Bababu beach, it requires 45 mins of trekking, the trail kinda steep, you have the proper shoes for the trail, there will be rope along the way of the hilly trail, but if you’re into trekking or climbing think twice to explore this destination, the lake is serene, enchating and well preserve.
