The walk starts in a small car park down a single track road heading towards Arivegaig off the B8044. The car park itself is marked on Google maps and is a 6 mile, two hour return trip. The walk is in three sections, the first looks over the mud flats of Kentra Bay where there is the opportunity to see some bird life before venturing into a pine forest down a forest track. Eventually the track splits and there is a sign to the right marked ‘beach’. A short walk up here takes to you one of several white sand bays.
The route was very quiet even though it was a sunny mid-summer day. This was an enjoyable walk down a fairly flat dry track with lots of variation in views along the way.

This is a sheltered peaceful remote beach with no amenities which is part of it’s charm. The car park is easy to find.Heading north out of Acharacle on the A861 turn left onto B8044 for a couple of miles then left at the dead end sign to Arivegaig down the single track road. Ignore the first crossroads by the post box ( where there is overflow parking ) and head over the small bridge for a further 400 metres to a car park on your right overlooking Kentra Bay. The first 20 minutes or so of the walk is along an untarmaced road around Kentra Bay to the ford. Crossing the Ford there is a faded sign to the beach and following the bay it’s another 10 minutes or so to a big metal gate. The next 30 minutes is along a forest path lined by spruce on either side. There is a signpost on the right down to the beach which is just a 5 minute descent . The bay was very calm with lots of little coves providing shelter for picnics though I didn’t meet another person there. The route is easily bikeable as far as the beach sign. I couldn’t make the sands sing but was happy to enjoy the solitude. The whole route at a steady pace is about a 2 1/2 hour 6 mile round trip on fairly easy path and relatively dry terrain for the area.

Our family of four risked the 6 mile round trip, which ended up with the 3yr old on dads shoulders most of the time. But we got there and had a lovely play on the beach. NB there is nothing there, so bring a picnic as its a 3hr round trip really. Nice walk through forests and along the coast. The beach was nice, but not a path on Sanna in our opinion! A favourite for tourists, so car park was relatively busy after about 1030ish.

From the carpark at the end of the road to Arivegeig, its around an hour to hour and a half depending on if you get a stomp on or not. Its not signposted but the route is straightforward enough round part of Kentra Bay and up through a forest. There is a little sign saying beach when you need to turn off. The reward is knowing youve had to put a little effort in to get to such a lovely place. So go...

We stayed at Macneils croft - which in itself is a fabulous place and the walk to the singing sands was literally from our door step . It took us through woods and along side the tidal Kentra Bay . There was easy access for the teens on their bikes and the dogs ( must be on leads due to livestock ) had a good run . It wasn't difficult , a few inclines but beautiful throughout . The beach itself was fantastic , clear blue green water and we were alone to explore . There are fantastic views and it was lovely to watch the tide go out . Truly remote !!!

We had a really lovely walk to the beach from our cottage. It is possible to park just before the gate leading to the track to the beach if you need to. The walk is quite gentle along the bay and through a forest. The forest walk still has the fence from the TV programme that got cancelled which makes for a rather tedious view in parts. The beach itself is beautiful and when we were there almost empty.

Well worth the walk to visit although part of the walk is passing by a rather long and boring 💤 fence. Very surprised how many other people were visiting. We took the bikes and gave the dog a run to the beach from the car park, she absolutely loved the shelving sandy beach and we all had a swim. Two lots of people camping ⛺ there, must have read about it too. 5 other parties arrived while we were there and the little car park was full when we got back to the car. Take a visit.

6 mile round trip walk along the coast, along a forest track to the beach and back through the forest trails. Perfect day out. Beautiful beach.

This spot was recommended to me by the lovely lady who looked after my holiday cottage and I am so glad I took the time to visit. I picked up an OS map ahead of the walk to this beach, but it was more useful to find my way to the parking spot than on the actual walk.
Once I was parked the beach was just over a 3 mile walk along a well defined track. One long section runs along side a large fenced off area where a TV show (Channel 4's Eden) is filmed but despite the fact the view to one side is a 7ft wooden fence for maybe a mile it was still a lovely walk.
I only had trainers on, and in the dry weather these were adequate for the most part, but I would probably suggest walking boots would be better. The section along the above mentioned fence had been laid with rough broken rock which was hard on the ankles at times. The round trip is about 6.5 miles, and not arduous, but some sections were hilly so not for anyone with limited mobility.
Most of the walk is through mature forest, and it was breathtaking. Soaring trees, small streams and waterfalls, mossy rocks, ferns and wild flowers - gorgeous!
You finally drop down onto an amazing white sand beach where you can sit for ages and barely see another soul. The bay was sheltered, and as I visited on a rare sunny day you could have been in any number of exotic locations but with the added peace and isolation.
I can't wait to go back to this beautiful spot, and I don't think less amazing wether would make it any less special.
