Calgary Is such an easy city to get around we have around 1000 kms of pathways, which are cleared of snow and ice so year round use is straight forward, they are well sign posted, for bikes and pedestrians.

Network, is huge, bigger than most know. The rivers, parks, highways…all link together great. If visiting Calgary, be sure to get on them.

Calgary is the City of Trails and pathways - I live in Prominence Heights and cycle the trails on the ridge going to Olympic Park and back ~ 15 kms

μονοπάτια κοντά στον ποταμό Bow River. το καλύτερο σύστημα να περπατήσετε και να γνωρίσετε την πόλη. εύκολα προσβάσιμη για ποδηλάτες και περιπατητές. θα απολαύσετε κάθε στιγμή περιήγησης σε αυτά. μια εξαιρετικά έξυπνη κίνηση για το τουριστικό κομμάτι της πόλης και όχι μόνο.

I love the Calgary Pathway system it's Easy and a Great way to see the City too. The layout is wonderful for all levels. Love also how there are some Bike Lanes too Super smart to have. In the Summer and Fall, it is Truly Stunning. Highly Recommend if you walk everywhere and or Cycle!

I've read that Calgary has more urban parkland than any city in North America. We are so fortunate to have moved here and live near the Bow River and hundreds of kms of pathways. Just keep to the right when walking and keep your dog on a short leash and there are lots of cyclists and they move very fast. Good for walking all winter too as it is keep clear of snow and ice. This is a huge benefit of living in Calgary. Also very pretty in spots.

The path ways are a great way to see the city and explore many different areas of the city. You can travel from Fish Creek Park in the south to Nose Hill park in the North. And the East West Path cover the Bow River thru a majority of the city.

We do a walk daily, and would be on the pathways more, but it is so disheartening to see how many people still don't give a care about social distancing, even with the exceedingly contagious COVID strain circulating currently. It is a vast system, and there are parts we like, but they are in some of the remoter stretches in Fish Creek Provincial Park and have fewer users.

This network is good for 4 season. You can literally travel the entire city on it. It is well maintained, with good signage.

Yes, you can get them from the Info booth at airport or from City of CALGARY website.
I would like to know the pathway system that could be used for a walkathon (5 or 10 kilometers) and then end at the Calgary Zoo.

Events like this are handled only through the City and their permitting system. Best to call 3-1-1 (403-268-2489) for advice on who to contact and hows it's done. Once there's an impact on public access, the Parks Department gets involved to make sure things are done properly and safely...
