Fabulous to have them reopen for 2021 - missed them in 2020. Great vendors and good social distancing and COVID protocols in place. Thanks.

Hello this is a response to the Google review i previously left. I was certain readers would also like to know the answers to these questions.
1. Were vendors charged the full amount as in previous years even though you have restricted the attendance by at least 75%.
2. Is it true vendors were not informed or given an explanation as to the limited ticket sales, and no sales at the gate?
3. Would you deny that a number of vendors have told us that you refused to disclose the number of attendees that would be permitted to attend the show each day by telling them you were not sure.
4. Do you contest the images attached to the review today that show in the equiplex that during the show hours at approximately 3pm that there were barely any spectators more than 2.5-3 hours before the show closed for the day.
5. Do you believe it's fair that the vendors should burden the financial losses of your limited admittance by having them pay the full booth price as in previous years, even though you have limited the attendance by more than 75% versus previous years. A member of your staff did inform us that your attendance (pre ticket sales )for this year's show was more than 75% than less the attendance recorded for each day 2 years ago when the last show occured.
6. After discussions with a number of handmade vendors today it was very apparent that they were concerned that they may not even make the money to cover their vendor space this year. Is this an issue you're concerned about and are you prepared to offer some sort of plan to ensure no vendor suffers financial losses due to your charging full vendor prices for a limited show that would see less than 25% of previous years attendance.
7. One of the issues that was brought up was the concerns for social distancing and this being the reason for the limited attendance. Yet it was observed today by 6 vendors that prior to the show opening attendees were permitted to load into the entrance vestibule for equiplex standing realy shoulder to shoulder with less than 1 foot social distancing in most situations. IS this also misinformation from these 6 vendors? Which part of the rules are important in following the guidelines if this is acceptable? Limiting attendance seems like a moot point if this is permitted while attendees wait to enter the show prior to 10am.
8. Charging for parking is new ? Is this new cost to supplement the fact that the vendor count for the show has been drastically reduced causing the number of buildings used to be drastically reduced for this show.
9. Is it true that a number of vendors experienced slip and fall incidents this morning because of the lengthy walk from vendor parking to the pavillion? And do you think it would have been acceptable and even probably a good idea to utilize the many golf transport carts Spruce Meadows owns to safely transport many of the vendors who had to travel this long distance.
I really mean no disrespect in my inquiry. I was a bit surprised in the review response I received that apparently I was providing misinformation. It seems to me based on the feedback from vendors I have spoken with throughout the show that they feel the information being provided, performance from show staff, and the lack of concern for public safety in the parking lot is very concerning. The fear of financial loss from this unrequired forced limited attended show is very real and very concerning to many handmade vendors. AHS has not ordered any of these restrictions in fact with the Vaccine Passport Program the requirement for restrictions is almost unnecessary aside from required sanitizing. I paid to park, I paid to get in, and I purchased and supported many vendors. The fact of the matter is and maybe ask yourself this question. IF vendors have the free time during the second day of such a big show to chat with me for 3-5 minutes about their concerns with the show because they have no customers do you believe that there is no issue? Do you believe it would be wise and maybe impartitive to save the show for these many vendors who have spent their hard earned money supporting your organization to open up ticket sales to more people and perhaps allow people to buy at the gate again to ensure there isn't these 30-45 minute gaps where there are no customers in the halls as the pictures clearly show?
Without the vendors you have no show. Your organization has received large dollar amounts from sponsors and you charged vendors full booth prices even though you have limited the attendance by more than 75% vs previous years. Something should be done and can be done. It's just a matter of whether Spruce Meadows is more concerned about their bottom line or the success of their biggest asset, the vendors who make their show possible.

Have a frequent guest scarf so free parking! Otherwise there was a per car fee of $5.
Wonderful green spaces and walkways to explore. Dog friendly too.
Horse jumping was superb. Wheel chair friendly areas too. Lots of good food in nearby food stands.
Go to a horse jump off held several times per summer.

took a drive out to Spruce meadows to see the Christmas lights, fantastic show and free - due to construction on 22x it was a little confusing as to where to enter - heading west use the first entrance

This market is huge. Parking was easy and well organized. Wear your walking shoes because you will want to see every vendor while there. Enjoyed the fitepits and bratwurst at lunch. Great selection of vendors. Great way to spend the day and get some Christmas shopping done.

We toured, or rather wandered through this World Class Venue and could almost imagine the huge crowds, leaping horses and colourful pageantry of this place. We'll go again when there is a competition taking place.

Despite living in the Calgary area for decades, we made our first visit for the Masters horse jumping. Huge crowd, but once parked you really don’t notice how many are there as it is a huge facility. Lots of people to direct you, shuttles to take you from parking to the arena.
The jumping was amazing to watch and even the time between competitions was entertaining. Well worth the effort to attend. There were also kiosks and various vendors selling a wide variety of things. (Not as many as during the Christmas market, which is very magical, but still lots to look at) fun things for the kids including pony and train rides.
Food was reasonable and good.
Entry fee was $5 but there was no one at the booth when we went in. Seniors and kids were free.
Highly recommended. Road construction in the area was only a slight deterrent

Se puede visitar Spruce Meadows aunque mi día de visita no coincida con algún evento ecuestre? Mi hija es amante de los caballos y queremos saber si abre todos los días durante el mes de julio.

I was wondering any ideas, how much a taxi would cost from , Calgary airport to Spruce Meadows?, and are there taxis available at Spruce Meadows to make a return journey?.

Spruce meadows is far from.the Airport. It costs me 50.00 to take a taxi home from the airport and I am half way to spruce Meadows.
If you drive, you could rent a car or if you have uber account they may be able to give you an estimate. or depending if you are staying at a hotel during one of their events they may have a shuttle to Spruce Meadows. If you are a visitor to Calgary you would be better off staying down town where the action is as opposed to staying in the deep South of Calgary.

Hello :)
Could someone please describe the difference between these specific tournaments at Spruce Meadows for me? Nationals, Continental, North American, Pan American, Masters.
Thank you kindly!

Each has excellent caliber of International horses. Masters is the most busy - and harder to get hotels. one is during the Calgary Stampede so that is busy. The Nations Cup is my favorite

I have experienced snow and cold and very hot. It usually rains when they have an event. Typically it is average fall weather.
How much does Spruce Meadows cost for parking and entry? Just wondering?

I think it depends on what is going on at the time. There are so many events there all the time.
Generally if you're coming for a small event or something hosted by an outside organizer you wouldn't pay for parking but if you're coming for the main even like the Masters you will pay.
