Interlude was recommended to me by a friend about 6 years ago and I’ve been going there ever since. May does a great job with her waxing and is SO FAST. I’m often in and out of my brazilian appointments in around 10 minutes. It’s also very convenient to be able to text to schedule appointments.

I give it 5 stars. Trust me. It is worth it. Place is clean & warm. Massage was very present & relaxing. Price is reasonable. Location is good. Ying is very friendly & polite. I will certainly come back to this place.

They were close by and convenient to schedule an appointment. The massage and facial were amazing, and a great value for the price! I would highly recommend this place.

After extensively researching and going through numerous reviews, I decided to take a chance on this place for waxing. Can confirm that the price is right. Definitely a lot cheaper than other waxing places in Edmonton. My first visit was good. I was very happy with my waxing experience. She was skilled and effective.
The building is a little older, but I did not have any problems with it. In no way is this place a 10/10 luxurious spa, but it gets the job done. She was able to book me in last minute. The decor is nice and offers a welcoming environment. She offered me a bunch of 10% off coupons to give to/recommend her services to friends or to use for myself for a new service if I promised to leave a good review on Google. I did leave a good review...however, recently deleted it and am writing this, because my feelings about this place have drastically changed since my last visit.
My second visit was not so great. My friend waited for me in the waiting room and mentioned/noticed the lady not washing her hands between customers and treatments. She does not use gloves. Uhhh..yuck. To "avoid double dipping", she uses Dixie cups. She uses the wooden stick to spoon a bunch of wax into the cup, and then takes the wax out of only the cup using the same stick. I was satisfied with this method on my first visit. However, on my second visit, I was horrified. She ran out of wax in the little Dixie cup, so she used the SAME wooden stick she was using on my skin to dip into the main wax pot and scoop out more wax into the cup, and continued using that stick on my skin. She did this twice. Completely negated using the cup in the first place. If she did that for me, how many other people have been double dipped?
I liked this place initially. I'm all about finding a good value. Don't need a super relaxing spa to get hair removed. However, I am all about hygiene and being sanitary. Very questionable hygienic standards. Probably will not go back here. Will pay the extra $30 to get waxed at a 100% sanitary place.

I wish I had read this review before I booked. I think the good reviews are done by the owner as they English isn't great. I went for a pedicure and was disappointed. It was a very run down place - there was not a proper pedicure chair - she brought out a plastic dish bin with a little bit of warm water and soap to soak my feet. I say in an lazyboy recliner - which was comfortable. A paper cloth was brought in to cover the floor as she sat on a stool. the setup was disorganized and she was always looking for tools and other stuff. She took calls and answered emails during the pedicure which was rather annoying. Foot massage was actually done well The pedicure was OK, a small amount of smudges on my big toe and I am slightly worried about getting a fungus infection as the hygiene was questionable. Overall, would not recommend the place.

Booked a couples spa day for our anniversary with them 4 days in advance. Showed up and it was some back door grimey place that is nothing like the Internet shows and NO one was there. Call the place and a lady answers. I said" we are her for our appointment!" They say "How many" they totally forgot and were in prepared. I said forget it not that I would have had anyone touch me there. GROSS PLACE!!!! BEWARE!!

terrible interiors - messy massage bed layouts bordering on unhygienic. Therapists were trying to strike up a conversation will the doing the treatment - kind of defeated the whole 'relaxing' feel.

I has been coming to Interlude Skin Care and Massage for more than 10 years. I like the services here. Staffs are friendly, and polite. The services are great. I always have massages and facial done here. They make me feel good and looking good. I also recommend my daughters and my friends to come. They also like the services.

The place isn't fancy, but the services and products are fabulous. This was my third visit and May Lim and her staff and amazing, I swear, best massage and facial in Edmonton.

I never write reviews but I felt I needed to add my 2 cents after my experience today. I went to Interlude because it was voted #1 in the city and was affordable. I got a facial, massage, and mani/ pedi combo with paraffin wax. Just like other people have posted my massage was terrible and not once did the lady ask me about any issues that she should be aware of. Also, I actually just had a massage the day before to loosen my chronically tight calves and this "massage" actually caused them to seize up again. They were rough, and rushed throughout the entire process and completed all 3 appointments in one room with my lying on my back. Not once did they offer me a break for water or to use the washroom. Throughout the entire 3 hours. I actually had my back seize up on me when I was finally done. The room was fully lit as well and music was played off and on which made it difficult to relax. I looked at the bill for me to submit for health insurance and the lady wasn't a RMT so I can't even claim it. My nail polish smeared in 2 seconds since they didn't have a dryer and they yanked my arms in uncomfortable ways when I was on the bed to soak my hands in the wax. My face doesn't feel any healthier after the facial and I still have a lot of blackheads- my reason for getting one.
So all in all spent only $220 on all of this but it was a waste as far as I'm concerned. I will be going to a real spa next time.

Not high end but I have been to many high end spas that don't come close to the massage I had here! They do waxing, Mani pedi Facials. I spent the afternoon with a couple of girlfriends we had a great time!
