This is an excellent museum. It's well curated, with a fine collection of artifacts. Informative and interesting. Wealth of material but not cluttered. Strongly grounded in local history going back well into the 1800s. Provides an excellent sense of what military life was like and how the military fit into the broader community over time.

This museum is a little-known gem in New Westminster. The museum has an amazing amount of armaments, uniforms, banners, and other items from soldiers' lives, from major conflicts dating from recent all the way back to WW1 and perhaps even the Boer War. I think the museum gets the most visitors after the Remembrance Day services, but it is open other times. On Remembrance Day there are often members of the regiment who can explain the history and significance of the items on display;. Well worth an hour!

The regiment was kind enough to let us come in and tour their museum even though they weren't officially open. Our guide was so informative and he really enjoyed sharing the history of the regiment with us. It was really one of our most enjoyable stops in New Westminster.

The Regimental Museum is a wonderful place to spend an hour so in this lovely historic building that has seen thousands of soldiers pass through its doors.

Firstly, note that the phone number has changed to 604.666.3420. Access is from the door on 6th Street, not the usual entry on Queens Avenue. This small but jam-packed area should be of interest to historians of both the Canadian military and the Canadian west coast, as this regiment pre-dates Confederation. It's all here, from the Boer War to WWII. Check out Monty's field jacket - you'll be surprised how small he was! Try and run with a Bren gun (if the knowledgeable guide will permit you). Lots of captured Nazi paraphernalia. All in all, a great trip to the past.

The Royal Westminster Regiment has a wonderful long history and a great collection. This museum is one of the few places in the B.C. Lower Mainland where one can see a great variety of historic military firearms displayed. It is well worth a visit for military history buffs. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Regiment needs a new Honorary Colonel. The present one is not a good representation of what our Soldiers do for the public.

I grew up in this area and spent my younger years attending sea cadets on a weekly basis on this historic site! It brings back many great memories of have great times with friends of my past. I had a walk around this site just this past weekend & walked away with a smile of acknowledging my past full of fond memories!

A wonderful place to tour if you are town. I am a founding member of the museum and still never get tired of going in and visiting one of western Canada's oldest militia regiments.
