I had a really good time and I learnt a lot about the city and its stories. The guide was very nice and told us very interesting things. I recommend it to everyone.

I ran a loop of False Creek (including a boat ride) with Charles, a fantastic guide and urban planning lecturer at the University of British Columbia. We were also joined by Ana, a journalist who had travelled here from her home in the North Western Territories of Canada. It was nice to have another participant and me and her went to Joe Fortes for lunch after the tour, as recommended by Charles!
Vancouver is viewed by many as a place that has it all - everything a city has to offer and nature on your doorstep - and it is often ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world and you can see why. Along our route Charles highlighted the back and forth between humans and nature that has occurred here overtime. Charles was so knowledgeable: answered any question we had and told us hidden secrets and showed us hidden gems. We stopped at Granville island, a number of parks, the Olympic village, the science museum, in front of a number of pieces of art and China town.
I would never have known how the landscape had changed so drastically if it wasn’t for my tour. Unless you look into the history you wouldn’t know as there aren’t many commemorative plaques such as for a burial site that is now a roundabout (although Charles and his colleagues are working hard to change that). Thank you Charles for painting a visual image in my mind of the changes that had occurred from the natural environment to what Vancouver is today over the space of 200 years and its good to see that efforts are being made to allow humans and nature to live in harmony.

Booked a running tour while attending a conference. There were 9 of us. We booked a 7km tour however ended up going closer to 10km. (The photo shows 5.9km but it was 5.9 miles/9.6 km).
Charles, our guide, was awesome. He was knowledgeable and provided lots of information on landmarks, history, and current conditions in Vancouver. We saw lots of sights including False Creek, Olympic Village, Chinatown, Gastown, and the waterfront.
I also have to give a shout out to Rhoda who was so patient with me with multiple e-mails about the number of attendees. She was wonderful to deal with.
A nice added touch was the photos ops on the run and the email with all the photos afterwards.
I would recommend this for someone traveling alone who wants to get out for a run, or a group. You can’t go wrong!

First time visiting Vancouver and I though running with a guide would be the best way to discover. I was RIGHT! Charles was my running guide, he is very knowledgeable and friendly. He adjusted to my pace, stopped to take pictures. From the emails exchange with Rhoda to set up the bookings and the running with Charles everything was flawless. Highly recommended! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic time with Charles on a running tour around False Creek, the Olympic Village and Granville Island. Charles was really knowledgeable and such a lovely person to run with. The pace was comfortable and we learned loads about the city that we hadn't known previously. Rhoda who oversaw the admin side of the booking was super friendly too and I highly recommend their tours for anyone who loves to run. Thank you for a great morning!

Charles was a great tour guide and did a wonderful job showing us the history of False Creek. We have done running tours all over the world and he is the first professor that we have had the pleasure of running with. When you think about the changing dynamic in Vancouver + the History of False Creek, he has such a range of knowledge that you'll have a much greater appreciation for both Vancouver's past and future.

Charles and I started downtown and ran along the water, through city streets, and across False Creek, finishing in Gastown and Chinatown. I got a great workout AND learned so much about the area. City Running Tours was fantastic about accommodating my schedule so that I could fit the experience into a packed week of conference and other activity. We ran just shy of a 10K and stopped occasionally but not so much that I wasn't regularly getting my heart rate up!

Had a great time with Charles on a tour of False Creek! Although I’ve been to Vancouver before, Charles’ insight helped me understand the history and significance behind many of the city sights. Thank you!

I always try to see if City Running tours are available in places I visit. I’m so glad Vancouver offered it! I had a wonderful, informative running tour with Charles through False Creek. I would highly recommend it!

Hi there, may I know how much does it cost? How long is the duration? And how far is this running tour? Is it on daily basis and what time does it start?

Hi Evangeline,
Thank you for your interest in Vancouver City Running Tours.
Our running tours are nearly every day of the week. We have a few different running tour options but I would suggest the 10 km Running Through Saltwater Tour. It is approximately 1.5-2 hours and costs $60 Canadian. We usually start between 8 - 9 am. We are flexible and can offer other times throughout the day.
The running guide will run at a very relaxed and comfortable pace with dozens of stops for interpretation along the way.
When will you be visiting Vancouver? We can set up a running tour depending on when you are in town.
You can call me (free of charge) at 1-877-415-0058, extension #20, to find a suitable running tour date and time.
Thanks again for your inquiry.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Rhoda
