当时是有提前预订美术馆的票，但其实人没有想像中多，可以当场买。如果时间允许，可以挑选他们自由付费的那天进去。对于一个不常逛美术馆的人来说，这可能有点闷，但展览很多元，而且里面的建筑也蛮有特色。如果有有兴趣还是可以来看看。

说句公道话，我们也有喜欢的东西。然而，总的来说，比较失望。我真的不明白为什么人们对贾科梅蒂的展览如此兴奋，尤其是线条画。摄影展很奇怪。平时我们都喜欢逛艺术博物馆，但这个美术馆除外。我的建议，不要去，能省点钱，门票很贵。

As you suggest and we always recommend that visitors check our website to learn more about current exhibitions. We also highly recommend taking in a free tour with one of our educators (schedule is online) to learn more about the artists and the story behind their work. Thank you for the wonderful review of our new summer exhibition - Alberto Giacometti: A Line Through Time. I am glad you enjoyed it! This wide-ranging exhibition of paintings, sculptures, drawings and lithographs by the renowned twentieth century sculptor showcases his works alongside the ancient sculptures that served his imagination, and works by his famed contemporaries. This is a North American premiere, with the exhibition coming from the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts following its 2016 presentation, which The Telegraph named one of its top exhibitions of the year. We are thrilled to have this exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to Vancouver and we look forward to having you return to the Gallery on future trips.

一走进来，你就会看到门外排着长长的队伍等待缴纳入场费。美术馆里有几个“大使”过来道歉并安排那些排队的人，但他们的时间本可以更好地用作收银员而不是致歉者。印象派展览是很值得一看的，但这里没有更多值得推荐的东西。在二楼展出了三个黄色的水桶，是清洁工用来清洗地板。是的，这居然都是艺术。说到地板，上面放置了一些旧的安全带，也被称为艺术品。虽然美术馆本身很让人失望，但我发现这里的商店产品异常丰富，而且去那里购物不需要支付美术馆的入场费。

I'm glad you found the French Moderns exhibition worthwhile. It covers a hundred year span of art at a time of great change. We regret that you did not enjoy the Mowry Baden exhibition. He is a well loved Canadian artist and his installation challenges our senses but being art we appreciate that it's not for everyone.
It does not sound like you were able to visit the Gallery exhibitions on floors 3 and 4. 'Moving Still: Performative Photography in India' on the 3rd floor features artists who use the camera's power to subvert reality. On our 4th floor is 'Views of the Collection: The Street" which is comprised of works from the Gallery's collection.
If you would like to return to view these exhibitions, please let us know and we would be happy to host you. We are pleased that you enjoyed our lead exhibition "French Moderns" as well as our wonderful Gallery store.

我住在温哥华，定期来光顾温哥华美术馆。这里总是有非常不错的展览，有国际化的展览，也有本地的展览，展品上都有着详细的介绍。令人遗憾的是，美术馆里的咖啡馆一直到秋天才开门，但附近有一些当地的餐馆，你可以在那里度过一天的时光。这个美术馆里还有一个可爱的礼品店！

在温哥华逗留期间，我们有幸参观了布鲁克林美术馆举办的印象派画展。美术馆的外观古朴优雅，内部却是现代而时尚。老年人和学生可以买到打折门票。美术馆的工作人员热情而友善，他们会引导我们参观美术馆，而且无需额外支付费用。

你还有几个星期的时间去温哥华艺术馆参观名为“法国现代-莫奈到马蒂斯”的临时展览。布鲁克林博物馆借出了60多幅油画只展览到2019年5月中旬。这个展览非常出色，不要错过（除非你计划去布鲁克林看同样的画）。我和妻子本周从西雅图到温哥华就是为了这个展览，很高兴我们来了！

我们在温哥华有一下午的自由活动时间，这里离我们的酒店很近，所以我们决定顺道去看看。25美元的门票价格确实把我们吓了一跳(几乎和卡尔加里动物园的价格一样！)就其费用来说，这次经历有点平淡无奇。我们喜欢主楼的绘画展览，但发现其空间有点让人晕头转向，当我们上楼时，艺术变得更加陌生，变得不再那么有趣。我们大概花了一个半小时参观了整个地方，那真是相当昂贵的一个下午。如果你真的喜欢艺术，也许值得停下来看看，但如果不喜欢的话，你最好花钱去水族馆。

Generally photography is allowed but it does depend on the exhibitions. There will be signs posted if it is not allowed.
Flash, tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.

Why is so little of the gallery open to the public? For $24, I expected more than half a floor of cartoons and a few Emily Carr sketches and paintings. According to reviews I have been reading, the second floor has been closed for a long time, as it was today. If you have less than half your building open, at least reduce your admission. Worst gallery visit ever.

As a visitor to Vancouver, who has toured literally hundreds of galleries all over the world, and is a supporter of my local galleries and museums. I have to answer those of you critics of my query.
As you can see, many others agree with me. Some have even stopped supporting VAG, because apparently the problems are chronic.
The current exhibits are meagre, overpriced and not worth the pirce of admission.
Add to that, a bad attitude from gallery staff, some of whom, I suspect, are the negators in these answers. Must be hard to work in such a place, but that is no excuse to visit your deep unhappiness and condescension on people who pay your wages.

The cafeteria at the Vancouver Art Gallery is an undiscovered jewel. The food is consistently good and the desserts always appealing. A nice selection of wine and decent coffee. The setting is lovely. The prices are reasonable. I usually have the soup and salad combo and can't recall ever being disappointed.
