This is a fun dive bar, which used to be a real metal bar, and has a good karaoke night on Thursdays

If you want cheep beer in a dive bar , look no further. See the losers in the best bars, meet the winners in the dive's , so sang Neil Young, he my well have been singing about this place.
Pretty mixed crowd, a few locals, some punk types and regular folk too. Great for people watching.

Upon reading reviews i expected a divey punk bar with karaoke instead i found just a dive bar. Floors and tables were sticky only 2 beers on tap and neither were local.
Those possibly could have been overlooked but the fact that there was only 4 other patrons all over the age 40 and 80's pop music playing killed the whole feel. The only punk feel to the whole place was the karaoke guy who sported the look well. As the were not very many patrons there was no karaoke either.

Awesome beer, excellent prices (13 Canadian dollars for 2L), super informal. They don't sell any food but you can bring yours (and share, because everybody is friendly and sharer).
Karaoke on Sunday's (with a real band!)
They don't have waiters, so you have to go on the counter and take your own beer - which makes everything seems like you're home.
I totally recommend it!

By the title I mean the area can be a bit sketchy for outsiders of that downtown community but there good bands so if I'm a group should be okay. During the afternoon early evening it is a great place for a drink or two.

While exploring the area we stopped in to this cool bar that is known for its live bands and cool party atmosphere. This place was a perfect mix of cozy and cool in the middle of the afternoon. Bartender was cool and their was an interesting mix of patrons. I recommend a stop in.
