We had a long delay on our way home from Canada via Vancouver and as a result has to stay overnight at Vancouver airport. We used the Canada line to take a trip to the waterfront for an evening walk and dinner. It's cheap and quick. You can just tap a debit or credit card and jump on. It's a couple of minutes easy walk from the terminal to the station with a covered walkway and great lifts.

The best way to get downtown from the airport and vice versa. Always on time, fast, easy to tap-in/tap-out with your credit card.

Easy to navigate. Great pick up and return to YVR. Prices are not unreasonable. we had a bit of confusion in the city figuring up how to get onto the YVR train, but with the help of staff we found our way.

I walked from the airport to the ticket booth in just a few minutes and was in Canada Place in about 40 minutes. An efficient and quick trip into Vancouver from YVR, very good for a layover.

This may have been the best way out of the airport to downtown Vancouver. Thanks to Rob! I was worried about pulling luggage on a public rail system. But I found many people were doing it so it was normal. The train was almost relaxing. The hardest part may have been getting your ticket at a Kiosk. Everyone seemed to have a problem with it. And act quick when you get on with your luggage as it can get in the way. Luckily we were in the front of the driverless train and had a good view and lots of seating in our space. We got off downtown, not sure if we could have transferred to another system to get to the Hyatt on Burrard so we decided to walk from there. A bit gruelling up hill so look carefully on where you should get aff for your downtown hotel. Some may need an uber?

Used the Canada Line to travel from Waterfront Station (near Canada Place) to Vancouver International Airport. The one way fare was approximately $6 CAD for two adults and took less than 25 minutes. The taxi fare for a similar route is approximately $38 plus tip.
We had 3 pieces of luggage plus 3 backpacks between the two of us and had no issues. I’d highly recommend this as an option to travel to/from YVR to Downtown Vancouver.

Best way to go to Vancouver downtown. Safe, smooth, elevated views from the airport into town. Easy to also take to the Yaletown-Roundhouse station to board the ferry to Granville Island market

We used this to get from the airport to the central metro station. Clean, comfortable and reasonably good value for money. My only quibble, the day ticket ends at 23:59 on the day of purchase, not like others I have used when they expire 24 hours after first use. Shame really as a good service.

Staying by the metro line was one of the best decisions - offers connectivity to Vancouver and surrounding areas such as Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, Delta and White Rock. The Day pass is so worth it as it can be used unlimited with the Buses, SeaBus and Metro.

Is there any luggage storage at the Waterfront station? We'll be exploring downtown during the day and our flight is not till 10:30 p.m. We will already be out of our accommodations in Port Moody, so not option to leave luggage there.

Would this work to get from the airport to the cruise terminal? Approximate distance to walk from the drop off to the terminal? We have two cars to park for the cruise and can't find parking anywhere else but the airport. Thank you!

You can park downtown at Canada Place but it will be expensive. It is very close to cruise ship terminal. Like other reviewers said, parking at the airport is cheaper and it is convenient to take Canada Line to cruise ship terminal. Get off at Waterfront station and walk.

We are flying into Vancouver on July 19 for a Princess Cruise that departs on Saturday, July 21. We will be staying at the Auberge Vancouver Hotel (that I believe is in the waterfront section). Is the Canada Line a good option for transportation from the airport to
our hotel? Our travel agent wanted to set up a one way transfer that would be over $100. My only real concern about the Canada Line is managing our luggage because walk with a cane and that limits my available hands. I will be traveling with my husband so I won’t have to manage it all on my own, but wanted some advice from others who are more familiar with the process.

Its fine, Canada line will be better for you, it will be just 2 blocks from the station to the hotel and the area it will be safe and fine you will loved it! they are elevators and the Skytrain exit, most of the residents in the area used the Skytrain to the airport. Trains run frequently about 5 minutes waiting.

Yes you can take the Canada line from Waterfront station all the way to YVR airport. It runs ~ 7 minutes. There are kiosks to buy your ticket, you can do a single ride ticket & I believe it will be around $9/person. There is an extra $5 fee added if you're going to/from the airport.

I just noticed you are in Nanaimo. I just spent last week there. You can get a bus from Horseshoe, the 257 which goes to downtown. Get off at Granville street nd pick up the skytrain, Canada line, from there which is called City centre.

Canada Line to Burrard Station!
Walk 2 blocks on Burrard towards the water...then left on
Hastings or Pender one block and you will be at the Marriott!
