Andy is the owner/guide of this tour and is passionate and professional about this experience. The rhythm of the tour was just right: ample time for questions but it moved at the right pace to ensure we were able to visit all of the tastings Andy planned. The foods we sampled were spread across several cultures and included pastries, sweets and savory items. Andy's stories about the history of the area we visited were fascinating and well-presented. Great tour all around!

From start to finish, Alleyways and Ales Craft Beer Tour was a 10 out of 10 experience. As well as being well-organized, informative, and fun, it was filled with fantastic brews, and delicous local foods.
The pacing of the tour was perfect, allowing us to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed as well as allowing enough time to meet and hear directly from the staff/brewers about their techniques and passion for the craft.
If you are a beer lover, or looking for a fun and social experience, I highly recommend this tour. It's a fantastic way to discover new favorites and learn more about craft beer and the cool alleyways in Victoria.

Excellent tour, lots of local information. Andy had a great voice for tour. Projected his voice and was well heard.
Chinatown, Old Town and Inner Harbour tour had lots of local information and great food stops.
Appreciated sharing a list with places we went and other local places as well.
Would recommend.

Alleyways and Ales was such a rad time! The beers were all good, the brew-pubs each unique, and walking through some hidden alleys was a cool experience.
Don't worry Lager fans, it's not just Ales! At each stop, there are 3 options of beer to choose from based on colour type: Lighter (lager, pilsner, kolsch), Medium (IPA, ales), Dark (porter, strong dark beer). There were some really interesting flavours to try.
Our tour guide Al was super friendly and informative. We got a little bit of backstory on each brewpub and the beers as well as some interesting history about Victoria and it's alleyways and squares. Al also made a fun toast to accompany each sampling.
You won't get hungry as the snacks on the tour were so delicious as well!
About 2.5 hours long, the timing and spacing of the drinks and food seemed perfect. Before we left, Al made sure to recommend plenty of safe ways to get home.
We walked away at the end of this tour with a happy buzz and full hearts. Cheers!

I recently took the new Vistas and Views Tour and it was fantastic! It was a rainy February day but it didn't matter, because the views were still awe-inspiring and the food was outstanding.
Our guide Holly was so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, answering some tough questions while also providing some memorable stories. At each restaurant, the staff welcomed us warmly and the food was really good.
At the first stop, the outstanding food was equally matched by a waterfront view of the inner harbour including Victoria's famous Parliament Buildings and Empress Hotel. Most people see brussel sprouts on a menu and keep moving on, but I was really happy with my savoury choice, as they were absolutely delicious, pairing nicely with a refreshing lager.
Next, after a brisk and scenic walk across the intriguing "Blue Bridge", we settled into the architecturally-beautiful confines of a historic bank building-turned-restaurant to enjoy a tasty pint and one of the best bowls of pasta I've had in recent memory. The pesto prawn linguini was amazing! We sat in a cozy room that looked like an old study and it had a patio with a unique vista perspective as well.
The final stop on the tour featured a delicious chocolate rum tart and an unmatched birds-eye view of downtown Victoria. From up there, we could see almost anywhere in the city and on a clearer day, across to the Olympic mountains of Washington State. We even spotted where we had started the tour across the harbour, which was a nice full-circle way to end this great little adventure.
I highly recommend taking this tour. The food, drinks, and views were all very enjoyable!

My girlfriend and I did this tour and we enjoyed it very much.
The food was excellent. We were definitely full.
We enjoyed the way the meal progressed with a different venue and beautiful views for each of the three courses.
We also really enjoyed the beer pairings and our tour guide Holly was great.
We would do it again for sure.

The Victoria Craft Beer scene is so good where does one even start exploring - this tour, that’s where! The beers were amazing with choices for all tastes, the snacks provided were uniquely local and so delicious, and the venues were very welcoming and friendly. On top of all this we learned so much about this iconic part of the city from our guide during the short strolls between venues. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Young children can come along on the tour. If they will be participating in the tastings then they are the same price as adults. If they are not participating in the tastings then they are free. It is about a 45 minute walk or 10 min taxi ride to the start location at the Victoria Public Market (1701 Douglas St.). The tour finishes at Tourist Centre across from the Empress Hotel (about a 25 min walk back to cruise terminal).

The 4 of us are “seniors” and very active. That being said, I think everyone was able to keep up and Mark was very accomplished at pacing the tour. Each place had seating (except the Italian bakery-but oh my, the tastings there were wonderful).
