I'm not sure why this is separated as something to see. When you are in the states, the lighthouses have some altitude to them. This was small and an appropriate signal. I doubt any of the ships would miss it as the straight coming in require assistance to navigate via tugs.

While strolling along the waterfront from the cruise terminal, we found the small lighthouse there near King Street. Another photo opportunity for visitors.

We were in port as a cruise ship port visit.
From our cruise terminal, we walked along the harbor on Water Street towards the center of town and came across the light house near King Street.
It is a small structure that you can use for a photo op.

It's a small lighthouse that you can't go into. The best part of it is that when the cruise ship is in it really is a beautiful backdrop for a picture.

We had a harbor view at our Hilton Hotel beside the lighthouse. It was a good location for viewing the harbor activities. We saw birds, fishermen, and even a cruise ship. There were people walking below on the boardwalk area around the harbor. This would be an especially good way to view it for any person physically challenged. I'd visit the lighthouse when in the area again.

We happened upon this lighthouse sitting on the waters edge, and if nothing else - it makes a good Kodak moment. It is not open to the public.

We stayed at the hotel next to this lighthouse. Not much other than an old lighthouse. Seems in good condition however and I can see that there might be history behind it.

True lighthouse enthusiasts will recognize that although this is a faux lighthouse and not an official aid to navigation it has several important heritage features. First, it was built in the 1980’s to represent the 9 remaining octagonal wooden lighthouses in the province, Second, it’s lantern is the authentic 1911 Grindstone Island lantern. Third, it houses one of only two operating Fresnel lenses in New Brunswick (4th order from Briar Island). It is the only LH of interest in the uptown Saint John area now that the Digby Pier LH has been repatriated. Unfortunately, with the closure of the Coast Guard base the future of this LH and its now dark Fresnel lens is uncertain. Some great photos can be had with the many visiting cruise ships in the background.
