Enjoyable for a casual walk or a day at the beach. Watch out for the segregated walking and bike paths. Great idea to keep everyone safe. Lots to see and do and walk up a couple of blocks for many options of food and bevies.

Huge green space overlooking Kempenfelt Bay that includes a spacious sandy beach, a long wooden boardwalk and a children's playground with an array of play structures. The beach is big enough to require 5 lifeguard chairs (currently off-season so no lifeguards on duty). The wide boardwalk provides unobstructed views of the water and can easily accommodate 2 people walking side by side on either direction. The playground here is literally a kid's paradise--aside from the usual swing, slide and monkey bars, there are climbing walls, zip line and more.
The landmark fountain was already turned off when we visited on Oct 22, Sat. We kept mostly to the waterfront trail but could see that Centennial Park has shade trees and picnic tables. The only negative I can think of about this place is the outrageous parking fee, $10/hr or maximum $50/day. If one is willing to park further away, there are cheaper alternatives (even free on weekends) closer to downtown Barrie.

After a great lunch, I took some time to enjoy the natural beauty of this area.
This a wonderful park to walk. Swings and slides for the kids. Multiple memorial plaques adorne the area.

Een park en een strand in één. Met mooi weer razend druk en veel bedrijvigheid. Hele feesten en barbecues wordeb er gehouden. Leuk om een tijdje door te brengen maar na circa 2 uurtjes hadden we het wel gezien. Parkeren is er erg duur.

the park is nice and quite scenic, but not so much to see in the winter cold of january. i look forward to returning again in the summer and spending more time here walking the paths.

Lovely park to walk and get some exercise and fresh air. The view of the lake and city is nice. Unfortunately it started raining and we had only put in $10 to stay an hour. That is my only complaint. The $10/hr for parking. I liked doing the weights they had there. Nice place.

We love coming to Barrie and walk along the lake. In the evening it was so wonderful with lights and also a band playing in their town square. A wonderful little town!

Park gorgeous! Go early to get parking and avoid the crowds.! Great views of the lake. Sandy beach. Bike & pedestrian lanes. Very well organized.

There are accessible washrooms and a very nice path all along the waterway. You will have a problem if you want to access the sand. There are no provisions for any accessible access to the sand.
