Wow! We actually stumbled across this destination by accident. We went in and were amazed by the Tesla Coil. Then we plunged 180 feet down and elevator with views the entire way and then walked a tunnel about 1/2 mile long. When you come out, you are at the base of the falls. It was amazing!

The night show made it a bit captivating. What we missed were the guides as we had to figure it out as we walked through - good we had the info boards. The staff enthusiasm was stoic to say the least - not sure why?! Never the less thanks for the experience and opening your doors to the public. We learnt!! #niagaratourism #comesee

If you go, I’d highly recommend trying to get a guided tour with Jim—he actually used to work in the plant when it was operational, and has a wealth of fascinating stories. Definitely worth a visit (although be warned—parking is SUPER expensive, so try to walk or get a shuttle).

Amazing views at the end of the tunnel. It is kind of chilly down there but it was a nice refresher since I went on a hot day. The walk isn’t too long either, at least for me

This old power station has been given new life and it is done very well. The Power station itself is very interesting and has a lot to see. We did the guided tour and it was very interesting. The tunnel is amazing though, such a cool walk down to the observation deck. Great views from there. Due to the mist you may also see rainbows. I enjoyed this so much when I was there, in May that when I had just one day in the area in Oct I went back again.

Great place to visit. Fascinating place if you like science and want to learn how this power station was made and functions. The contributions of all its important workers from construction to operations and maintenance and of course the brilliance of Tesla.

The Niagara Parks Power Station offers a historic light show that describes the major architectural feat on building a major hydro power station in 1901 in the Niagara Falls, Ontario. This is a fun 1-hr to 90-minute tour that mixes history, architecture as well as unique water level views of The Falls. Make sue to visit in the evening between 5-8pm.

This is a must see for everyone! We took the guided tour and we felt it was worth every penny. We also got the package that allows entrance for the laser show in the evening. That was also fun and interesting.
We walked the tunnel and it was so great to see Niagara Falls from that angle. We only live a couple hours away so hopefully we can get back to see it again and bring our family.

This should be much higher on the list of things to do in Niagara. The museum has some interesting information and history about the advances in energy and power using electricity and hydro power. There’s a brief show on Tesla’s coil on the hour with a cool demonstration— be aware this is very loud. After touring the museum ride down the glass elevator to the tunnel. It’s about half a mile and pretty cold. But the views on the other side are worth the price of admission on its own. It’s way less crowded than the upper level observation areas along the falls. You get spectacular views and it feels really up close. Would definitely recommend.

Are there any benches inside the tunnel so ones can sit for a few min before continuing on the walk? This is longer in feet than the white water walk, and they had nowhere to sit along the path. Only at the very start and very end.

Yes there are benches all along the walkway where there are explanation boards about the history of the tunnel and the power station. You can also arrange for a golf cart ride along the tunnel.

3 hours including time to park & buy tickets. Lots to see & read. The elevator to the walkway to the Falls takes time if there are crowds.
