I am sorry, I am not sure if Cycle rentals are there on the Island Park. But one can always hire a cycle from the City and carry the Bike across to the Island in the Ferry. Once on the Island there are miles and miles of tracks for you to cycle around. Even if you do not have a cycle, you can enjoy the Island my walking across the pathways. There are motorised buggies that can take you from spot to spot on the Island.

Yes Toronto Islands are always open. Ferry service starts at 9am and last departure time from Centre Island is 11:45pm. The ferry winter schedule starts on Oct21st. So there is no service to the Centre Island but Hanlan's Point and Ward's Island ferry service continues.

We went with two kids, similar age ironically. The island is a very good size, with enough to do to have a good chunk of a day. Including the ferry ride we took the ferry for 9ish, left the island for 4. They won’t get bored!
