I visited the Toronto Botanical Gardens with my partner, and it was a little smaller than expected. However, given that it backs onto the Edwards’ Garden and has a number of curated gardens itself, it is well worth the visit! The on-site cafe also punched above its weight too!

It was quite a journey to get to the Botanical Gardens but we were pleased we made it. The gardens are well laid out and very pretty. There was a nice cafe and shop at the entrance. We made our way down through the gardens and into the connecting park. The paths and bridges were well maintained and it was a very enjoyable and refreshing walk.

We enjoyed the small Toronto Botanical Garden which is located within the Edwards Gardens. It was a nice way to see plants that are good choices for the area but plant signage could be improved upon. The garden is free but there is a fee for parking which is a bit quirky. We did not go further into the Edwards garden and stayed less than an hour in the actual Toronto Bot garden.

We had never been to this garden before but have visited many gardens in many different countries. Toronto Botanical Gardens was very disappointing. There was very little signage around the garden so we kept ending up outside the garden perimeter. We finally used Google Maps to find our way around and back to the main building. Without better signage, we felt the gardens were not interested in making us feel welcome or informed about what was on offer.The plants were mostly annual displays rather than formal botanical perennials. For the local community it is probably a nice neighborhood green space, but to travel out from the downtown core which takes over 30 min. it wasn't worth the trip.

The botanical garden was a great break from the hectic activity in the city centre. A bit of a journey to get there on public transit, but I found it well worth while. Not a true botanical garden with every plant labelled, but a mixture of colourful planted beds, grass swaths, and trees it was very enjoyable to spend time wandering the garden and surrounding area. The botanical garden connects with other parks to allow a variety of areas to explore. The free admission is an additional bonus.
Highly recommended.

This place is nice for free and $2.50 a hour on parking. There is a cafe there and you can get ice cream, pastries, drinks and coffee. The botanical part is rather small compared to other botanical gardens I’ve been to but it’s free so I wasn’t expecting a lot.And then Edwards park is attached. It’s a nice place to go to kill a few hours.

The free admission to this garden and the adjoining Edwards Garden was a nice perk, and the parking was incredibly cheap ($2.50 per hour). Unfortunately, there wasn't much to see overall besides some flowerbeds, trees, the forest, and the stream within it.
It's more like a large park that's good for people who live nearby to go for a walk, run, picnic or bike ride. Or a place to stop by if you're already visiting the Ontario Science Museum.

This was a nice change from the pace set by the Big city of Toronto, calm breezes, chirping birds, beautiful flora. I was also quite impressed with how clean it was! This well maintained park isn’t the most exciting or adventurous for some, but it does offer variety and a break from the city, without having to actually leave Toronto.

In comparison to other botanical gardens i was not terribly impressed. Very little of interest to see . However it did provide a nice family outing during Covid times . I will have to visit post Covid to see any difference

It was our first time being here. We visited the Edwards Gardens Park inside the Toronto Botanical garden after our visit to the Montreal Botanical garden. Comparison wise the Toronto Botanical Garden was not as impressive as the Montreal Botanical Gardens. However the fact that entry to this park is free is a good thing. A lot of the parks sections were cordoned off maybe because they were improving the pathways to the forested areas.

I would like to visit the gardens before my flight this evening. It’s more convenient to leave downtown TO, head to Gardens then to Pearson.
Will there be a place to leave my luggage at the gardens? Coat check or something similar?

You may be able to make some arrangement at the desk in the lobby or in the gift shop. Can't say for sure but am fairly certain they would be accommodating.

There is no admission to the gardens. There is a large parking lot adjacent to the gardens which will soon have nominal parking fee of $2.50 per hour.

Each season has its own appeal. In spring you'll see lots of flowering bulbs and trees. It's also lovely in the summer when most of the gardens are at their peak. There is also a great show of colour in the fall.
