A big thank you to Michel for this mega tour of more than six hours in the neighborhoods of Montreal!!!!
We had a great time, we left Montreal with lots of photos of neighborhoods that we would not have visited without Michel

During this visit we were able to discover the different faces of Montreal. Known and lesser known. Michel is inexhaustible about his city. A true immersion in the bustling life of Montreal, its history, its architecture, its neighborhoods etc.
6 hours of walking with Michel (a very friendly guide who adapts to the group) to discover the city from the inside!

Michel nous a fait découvrir les charmes de certains quartier de Montréal . Ses connaissances de l histoire de Montréal et du Québec nous permis de mieux comprendre son pays et son histoire.

Nous avons redécouvert notre ville grâce à Michel lors d'une activité d'équipe. Comme nous habitons à Montréal, Michel s'est facilement adapté et nous a fait découvrir des faits et des endroits que nous ne connaissions pas. Guide très intéressant qui ne fait pas que régurgiter un texte.

Merci pour les bons mots. On ne visite pas assez sa propre ville en effet. Ce fut un plaisir de vous montrer des endroits moins connus.

Une super visite de Montréal variée, instructive et divertissante. Michel nous a fait découvrir avec passion sa ville , son histoire, ses différents quartiers et ses coins un peu plus secrets. Il est très disponible et prêt à répondre à nos questions quels qu’en soit les sujets. Il peut également adapter la visite selon vos centres d’intérêt. A recommander sans hésiter.

Michel gave us a 6 hour walking tour of Montreal. He is very knowledgeable, answered every question with a rich explanation. We crisscrossed the city, saw many points of interest and different neighborhoods. Stopped for bathroom and lunch at our leisure. My wife and I had a great time with Michel. Much richer experience than taking the tour with 30 people and following the guide around. The tour with Michel was well worth the extra money to get a private tour. Very good value for the money. Highly recommended.

You are right, on a private tour with a small group, i was more able to answer all your questions about Montreal or the country in general.

After making an email enquiry 2 months prior to our requested tour date and receiving a quick response from Michel we booked the Grand Tour immediately online.
Michel confirmed our reservation and provided the meeting point. When we arrived, we were the only 2 on the tour and Michel was very flexible with the tour itinerary.
We saw so much of this great city, including the interior of churches, Barbie collection, Street Art, important building exterior and interiors, areas of the old port, residential streets and back lanes.
We stopped during the tour and purchased lunches at an Italian deli. After walking for 6 hours, Michel left us with some great ideas for the following day.
Thank you, Michel, for sharing your knowledge and showing us more than we expected to see and experience.

It's always nice to hear great comments and that you liked our tour. Glad that you likes the the variety of sights along the ways. Hey, who would expect a Barbie Exhibition on a tour. (To other people reading that, it is not on all of our tour, it depend of the mood haha)

We took the six hour tour in the summer and couldn't have had a better experience. Michel is insightful, takes you places that are actually interesting and gives you a good overview of the the city's history. Besides the major sites, you can see local gems like green alleys, small charming parks, and parts of the city you wouldn't know were there unless you're a local. Michel keeps it interesting and at a pace that isn't grueling or too slow. Bonus: he knows where all the public restrooms are. That alone will serve you well when you're on your own in the city!

The Grand Tour is 29$ per person. It last 6 hours.
Although, our other tour are available too as a private tour. Old MOntreal in depth is 3 hours. Write us for private tour rates and availability.

To avoid people showing up at a fully booked tour or at a canceled tour, we do not show the meeting point of the tour on our site. Although, we send the details of the meeting point by email to each reservation, don't worry. :-)

HI! I and 2 friends are spending 24 hrs in Montreal mid June and would like to do a private 4 hour walking tour of the underground and old city in an afternoon. Is Urban Marmotte able to accommodate this request?

Of course. Our underground city tour only is usually 4 hours but we could do a mix with some part of the underground and some part of the Old Montreal.

Hello. Is the tour in English and French. I speak and understand a bit of French but my husband does not. Also, as a young person I visited Montreal and have a rough idea about where things are. My husband has never been and I really want him to love this city as much as I do!

The tour are in English, French or both, depending who's on the tour. We do not want to leave anyone behind.
As for having your husband to like the place, our mix of center and residential, touristic and everyday life should work. :)
We often got the comment at the end of the Grand Tour "look like a nice place to live" :) We agreee!

We are in our late 70's and not sure that we can walk for 6 hours. Can you tell us more about the pace--gentle or more rapid. Is there time to stop along the way?Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hi.
Well if you're in good shape, i think you can. Some have done it in the past. We adapt our pace to the people in the tour and if you need to rest a little bit more, our guide will be able to do more information-stop by bench or place you can sit while listening.
We also stop at about half-tour for lunch.
And if before the end you feel you had enough, don't be shy to leave the tour either. we will not take it personnally. :)
And it is still a pretty good deal. Hehe!

Par le passé, plusieurs familles ont fait ce tour avec des enfants du même âge et même plus jeunes (6, 8, 10 ans) et cela n'a jamais été un problème. Il y a des pauses et on sait aussi s'adapter au besoin.
S'ils ont en plus l'habitude de marcher, je ne m'inquièterais pas de savoir si les enfants pourront faire le tour en entier... ils pourront. :)
Je ne peux mettre les liens ici, mais tu pourras lire les commentaires de 2 familles qui ont fait le Grand Tour avec des enfants: le 22 août 2012 et le 28 août 2012.
