I was in town for work and was able to slip away for about an hour and a half to see this museum. I’m very interested in the history of the gold rush and the north and so I hoped it would provide some interesting information and exhibits. It did and I wished I’d had an extra half hour or so.l as I felt I had to rush. For a reasonably small museum there is a lot of interesting stuff packed in there. The price is quite reasonable and the staff are very helpful. I highly recommend it.

This museum was a pleasure to visit. Slow time of year so we had it almost to ourselves!!! Loved everything about it, from the info about the First Nations to the animal section to the Gold Rush. So many artifacts collected and displayed. We spent a good 2 plus hours. Definitely recommend!!

An outstanding local museum. Welcoming reception who have an excellent understanding of the museum and its history. Clearly laid out and easily followed. Well labelled exhibits and photo plates. Stunning foyer of local glass artesians, lumel.

We originally went to the MacBride out of a sense of almost obligation. It’s the museum in Whitehorse and we felt we should go. Glad we did! When you first go in, it just looks like a couple of rooms and wall displays on settlement, the NW Mounted Police and indigenous peoples of Yukon - interesting but…. Then you go to the next area and there are cool wildlife displays and then there is another area on the early days of Whitehorse and then another area up stairs on the early days of radio in Whitehorse and more areas than that. I suppose you could say they need to do a better job of giving an up front impression of the scope of the place but Paul, at least, enjoyed to progressive reveal. Go out of obligation if you feel that way too, but we don’t think you’ll regret it at all!

This is an awesome museum. Lots of displays and artifacts. We had a gtreat time looking at everything. Even got to see Sam McGee's cabin.

A great place to get an introduction to Yukon history and culture. Very well done! A couple hours is a good amount of time to spend though you could do it faster or longer and make a morning of it. Perfect place for a cold fall morning or hot summer afternoon.

This museum has been in existence since 1952 and is the oldest museum in the Yukon. The original part has been added onto and the displays are extensive. Tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. I just wish we'd had more time to explore!

What a great new addition to the museum since our last visit six years ago. Appreciated the spaciousness and the new displays devoted to the First Nations of the Yukon. One of the best museums in the country.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. Open spaces, clean washrooms, plenty of displays. Lots of photo opportunities. Interesting information to be read for sure. Activities during the day but wasn’t able to attend any but they looked fun! Worth the stop!

An exceptional museum in downtown Whitehorse. A vast array of exhibits (Indigenous, animals, textiles etc). Various rooms dedicated to teaching you about different topics of Yukon history and life. A perfect place to learn about the area you are visiting. Helpful and knowledgeable employees, various events throughout the day, such as tours, skits, gold panning. You could easily spend 3 hours here.
