Car parking a rip-off but knew that in advance. At least there are disabled spaces and the cafe/shop is wheelchair-friendly. Mind you, 1 of the pay machines just 'froze' when I cancelled due to keying my car reg wrongly. However, chaos reigned in the cafe. The till was broken and the coffee machine was out of action (FAR too much reliance on coffee machines which frankly AREN'T reliable) so just tea and hot choc available. Also no jacket potatoes available. However, they'd got a decent routine worked out with payments being made in the shop. Don't know whether to feel frustrated or sympathetic! At least the food was OK when it came.

Cakes are lovely, unfortunately the advertised hours are incorrect. I went at 3pm the other day and it was closed. All info I can find says 10-5pm every day? Prices have also just been raised again making it rather pricey for what you get. £5.60 for a small panini with a few crisps and a salad garnish 😬 Hot food often not available.

Visited yesterday after a few years . What’s happened ? Awful cafe with cold coffee ! Nowhere to sit with dog . Place looked really run down . Car park a shamble and expensive , took ages to pay with the app . Won’t be back !

Let me put it this way - who installs a Pay by App parking system in a mobile internet dead spot? (Hint - Kent County Council).
Only one of two Pays and Displays machines were working. The one which was working was almost impossible to use because it was positioned so that the sun made the instruction screen impossible to use. Eventually there were several families crowding around the machine trying to work out how to use it. Somebody came up with a message and we were able to pay. (I notice that other reviewers were caught out and stuck with penalty charges.) This is not acceptable for a place where families want to enjoy the countryside.
Oh, and I have encountered sewerage farms that smelled less than the toilets.
The walk was pleasant though.

Beautiful, stunning walks. Well worth visiting BUT, marred by the extortionate parking fees unless you are going for the whole day.
My son and I took the dog for a "cool" evening walk a couple of days ago. We arrived about 6.30pm-7pm but had to pay a whole days parking fee! The gates are shut at 8pm even though we are in the height of summer!
I also noticed that at the weekends and bank holidays...when the children are not at school, the parking fees go up. This is shameful and in poor taste and sheer greed. Shame on you Sevenoaks District council.

We took our horse for a 4 mile hack, paths are great, they were a bit muddy in places, due to the time of the year. Some of the Bridle paths are separate from the footpaths which is nice. Few spots where you can get a bit of a move on if wanting too. Booking is needed for box parking, call up and they put you in the diary, very helpful staff.

Great family walk which ended with a tasty lunch in the cafe which included a gluten free meal for me. Will definitely return to sample the cakes.

It is nice to find a place in the UK where you are not gouged for parking - £1.70 for the day. There are plenty of tables for your picnic and then a nice walk along the river past the castle and Roman Villa. We the. Did the loop walk for a couple of hours. Loads of lovely bluebells. We had local apple juice back in the cafe. A great day out.

The park itself is a great place to explore especially if you have a dog. Miles of footpaths and bridleways, suitable for all abilities. We are local so use the park regularly and my partner participates in the weekly Parkrun.
It's just such a shame that the cafe is a huge disappointment, considering a major user of the park is dog walkers, the facilities are poor. No dogs allowed inside and the outside area has little shelter and the benches are in poor condition. On top of this the standard of the food has dropped and the coffee is barely lukewarm, not good when you're forced to sit outside in the cold.

Nice size car park and easy enough to park. Good price for the car park too. We had a walk along to the castle and back along the river and then a play in the play park. Only spent a couple of hours here which was more than enough. Nice to come see some where different to our usual park but not worth the 30 minute drive me me unfortunately but if we was ever passing we would come back again

Yes, the only area that they have to be on lead is the car park and children's play area, the rest of the park is fine for off lead walking, there are some shared bridleways so you may see horses and mountain bikers but it's a great place for dogs to stretch their legs , plenty of poo bins in the meadow area There is seating outside the cafe as dogs aren't allowed inside which is a shame

There is no barrier for height restrictions to enter in a camper van horse boxes regularly park up but have to pay to use the facilities!!!

No, but there is both a large area of water, where the river Darent pools and ducks do visit, and a bird watching area, however that is more for birds of prey.

This is a excellent place to walk your dog there is outside areas to throw a ball or lots of woodland for dogs who like to sniff around you can go for miles so 2 hrs or half hour what ever suits the dog !!!! It can be hilly but isn’t too difficult views are stunning !!!!
