We spent a lovely couple of hours here. Hubby walked through the farm - with the owner's permission. I enjoyed sitting and talking with Laurie while I thoroughly enjoyed a bowl of Pistachio Gelato. So creamy and flavourful!
The store has a good selection of meat cuts to purchase, along with jams, and of course, gelato.

Great spot that is close by.. first time here and after reading some of the reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect but there was plenty of water buffalo meat as you can see in the photos. I’m lactose intolerant and I’m going to try their cheese and milk

Enjoyed talking to the owners.

Such sad conditions for theses beautiful angelic mothers and calves.
Please improve on their living space. They are sick and in pain. They have souls and deserve dignity.

We spent the night at Kings Mill Cidery and they recommended we visit the Water Buffalo farm - such an interesting place! Seeing the friendly animals, scratching their foreheads and chins, visiting the babies...this was a unique experience and we're so happy we stopped in. Picked up some cheeses and pepperettes for our trip. I'd love to come back and bring my children another time!

Learn about Water Buffalo on a owner guided tour or self guide yourself and your family through the farm to see all there is to see!
Did you fall in love with the calves when you met them and cuddled them? No worries, you can adopt your very own adorable stuffed Buffalo Baby Buddy complete with birth certificate at the Buff Stuff shop, where you'll also find Water Buffalo Gelato that is absolutely sinful to divulge in!
Hungry for something more? Try thier croquettes, full of ooey, gooey mouth watering goodness; you'll want to eat them again and again!
A true hidden gem in this part of Ontario, the farm is a place that you and your family can go to explore.
As an animal lover and welfare advocate, I love how open the farm is and the passion that the owners have for thier field of work and thier animals show shining through, in all that they've created for families to experience!

We enjoyed a marvellous visit to this farm. It was a wonderful learning experience , as well as a perfect opportunity to interact with these very special animals. We have visited a number of times and continue to learn more and more about how this company works. We purchased a number of items at the shop, always ordering some delicious gelato ! Our tour guide , Laurie is always very pleasant and exceptionally knowledgeable about these amazing animals . She answers all questions and provides interesting examples of the everyday routines and happenings. We will continue to visit this unique place. We love it there!

Great place to hang with social water buffalo cows. Disappointed the bufala mozzarella is not made there but the gelato is... okay but not wowed by it. Meats were good (also not made there) but the water buffalo cows make this a great place to visit.

Hi! Thank you for your review. We are sorry you are disappointed that the mozzarella is not made here. Most dairy farms don't process their own products. The meat is raised here and processed 10 minutes away, not very far! We are planning to have someone hand stretch our mozzarella but not here, the cheesemaker is in Quebec!
We have also improved on the gelato since you've been here, so you might want to try it again!

It's hard to say which was better - learning about the water buffalo farm through the tour of 600 buffalo and all its infrastructure or experiencing the warm hospitality Lori, Martin, their staff (and their pup!) provided on our recent tour of the Ontario Water Buffalo Company.
We met animals throughout the lifecycle: from pregnancy to babies learning to suck a bottle, twice day milkers, those who were down to one - so many of whom respond to Lori's voice and were eager to rub noses with Tia, the gentle dog in our group (welcome on leash) who tagged along with us. We heard tales of those who "leave through the far gate", but glad not to have met anyone who was to be later sold in the shop! YIKES!
It's interesting to understand some of the differences (and similarities, too, I suppose) between a dairy farm with cows and the milking of water buffalo. As a seasoned dairy and water buffalo farmer, Lori answered all our questions with patience and clarity.
What a vast array of products we enjoyed when we shopped in the Buff Stuff stop afterwards! The cheeses were tremendous - and we were so impressed at how much milk gets sold to New York, in addition to Fifth Town Cheese (in the County). The buffalo milk butter tarts were amazing -including the perfect pastry! (I used to be known for my butter tarts!) Meat for the BBQ. Soaps for stocking stuffers. The shop was well worth the trip.
And then.... it's hard to say whether the lemon or peanut butter/chocolate gelato is my favourite. The glorious summer day was just the topper on our outing as we lazed at the hospitable tables and children's play area provided to make the most of our day at the farm.
What a treasure - just north of Stirling! We KNOW we'll be back!

This is a definite “must stop” on your travels. You have to try the different cheeses and meats that they have out for sampling. You will be sure to find some that you love. They have quite a variety. Also check the freezer, the croquettes and the meat pies are to die for. I absolutely love the soap that they sell, the fragrances are quite unique. They would make a perfect little hostess gift, or keep them for yourself, they will make your bathroom smell delightful.
